Eastside Friends of the Dharma Eastside Friends of the Dharma follows the Buddhist teachings of kindness, love, compassion and wisdom to foster care in the community.

Eastside Friends of the Dharma is a group of people with an ethical purpose. We offer Buddhist teachings in the communities of Madison, Stoughton and Columbus, Wis.; meditation practice; and retreats and workshops. We also engage in community outreach, cultivating kindness and love in the community. Our spiritual director, Venerable Lhundup Chodon, is a Buddhist nun who has been teaching since 199

0. She received her bhikshuni ordination at Plum Village, the spiritual community founded by Vietnamese Zen Monk Thich Nhat Hanh. Eastside Friends of the Dharma brings people together from various spiritual paths, or in some cases, no spiritual path. No prior experience with Buddhism is necessary. We emphasize how Buddha's teachings can be integrated into daily life.
