Our WINGA leadership and legislative team in conjunction with our co-horts at Wisconsin National Guard Enlisted Association have been hard at work this year. Due to their efforts and the support of Your Associations many of you are now eligible for State Income Tax Exemption and a Veteran Identifier on your WI Drivers Licenses for Guard and Reserve, as well as WI GI Bill Residency Requirement reduced from five years to three. Pictured: WINGA President Col Jeannie Jeanetta, former WINGA Pres. Col Dan Statz, WINGA Air VP Col Tim Guy, and Col Matt Eakins.

2025-2026 State Legislative Session; Bill Signing with Governor Evers. State Income Tax Exemption and Veteran Identifier on WI Drivers Licenses for Guard and Reserve, as well as WI GI Bill Residency Requirement reduced from five years to three. WNGEA and WINGA worked together to support Wisconsin National Guard members, their families, and veterans. Thanks to WNGEA’s hard work; pictured: Curtis Leren and Jason Walker (Chad Workman not pictured).

Special thanks to bill authors State Representative Benjamin Franklin and State Senator Jesse James for introducing companion State Income Tax Exemption bills and presenting them during committee and floor votes.
