If you happen to love their music

I first learned about Zac Brown Band’s commitment to helping those with special needs when I went to see them in concert at PNC Bank last year. After one of their sets, Zac Brown, the leader performer, told the crowd about a portion of the proceeds from their concert going to help those with autism

We reached out to the Autism Speaks community for their tips on making this year's Halloween a safe and fun event!

10/29/2015

Halloween is once again upon us, so please remember if you are participating in trick-or-treating, you will be having lots of visitors at your home this year. Be accepting. The child who is grabbing more than one piece of candy may have poor fine motor skills. The child who takes forever to choose one piece of candy may have motor planning issues. The child who does not say trick or treat, or even thank you may be non-verbal. If there is a child who isn't wearing a costume might have a sensory issue. That larger participant might look like an adult, but could be developmentally delayed. Choose your words wisely. Be accepting. Be patient. But most importantly, have fun.
