Wisconsin Faith Voices for Justice As progressive people of faith, we believe it is our duty to ensure the state upholds human dignity and meets the needs of ALL who live here.

We are an interfaith organization of social justice committees, organizations, non-believers, supporters, congregations, and religious leaders from many faith traditions dedicated to creating a more just society for the state of Wisconsin. Wisconsin Faith Voices for Justice crosses religious, cultural, and political boundaries to bring about awareness, educate, and advocate for systemic changes that address the root causes of poverty, racial inequities, and social injustice in our state. Our signature programs include:

Meet the artist behind Embody Democracy.

Milwaukee-based artist Niki Johnson has spent her career creating work that addresses identity and equity to challenge structural power systems affecting our lives today. Her Pillars of Democracy series underscores the struggle inherent in political progress and highlight the essential role artists play in movements for change.

On October 20, Niki brings Embody Democracy, Community Art Workshop, to Green Bay for the first time. The art you create that evening will become part of her next large-scale project on what it means to embody democracy.

Thank you, Eau Claire! Yesterday The Vote Is Sacred Bus Tour stopped at Lake Street United Methodist Church, and it was a great chance to make community connections and have real conversations about election protection.

Thank you to Chippewa Valley Votes for bringing voting resources, to the community members and clergy who joined us, and to our friends from MARCH, Interfaith Alliance’s Minnesota affiliate, who drove over to be with us. And a big thank you to Interfaith Alliance for including Wisconsin on the tour and for their continued support of our work across the state.

Our latest Interfaith Voices episode features Rabbi Noa Kushner, founder of The Kitchen — a groundbreaking San Francisco synagogue that has welcomed thousands of Jews and non-Jews into community rooted in Shabbat, justice, and Torah. Rabbi Kushner's conversations are open, inviting, and honest about doubt. She's not here to convince skeptics so much as to sit with them.

She's also the author of Pretend You Believe: How to Enter Religion — a concise, elegant argument for why religion matters, written for seekers, skeptics, and everyone in between.

WIVEC is proud to bring the Embody Democracy Community Art Workshop to Green Bay on October 20 in partnership with the Mauthe Center at UW-Green Bay.

Join artists Niki Johnson and Taylor Kemnitz for a hands-on evening of art-making, conversation, and civic action — plus a free meal catered by Golden Spoon African Cuisine, voting resources, and local organizations. All are welcome.
