This post is a little late, but we are still recovering from an unforgettable Saturday at the Eversource Energy HMF Events (Hartford Marathon Foundation) races! 🏃🎉

Our hearts are completely full and our legs are sore, but our incredible Donate Life Connecticut team did it! Every mile run and every step taken represented a story of hope, honor, and second chances. We hit the pavement not just to race, but to shine a light on the life-saving power of organ and tissue donation, and spread absolute joy simply being together. 💙💚

While the race morning flew by far too quickly, the tight hugs, bright smiles, shared tears of joy, and overwhelming feeling of community will carry us all the way to next year's starting line. 💪

Meet Hartford Charity 5k bib team member Jen, who is taking on race day in honor of her son, Nathan Lindsey! 💪🏃🎉

Nathan became an organ donor in April 2024, passing on the priceless gift of life to three people. Nathan was a total car guy through and through—his mom proudly shares that he would’ve hated to see good parts rust away in a yard when they could help keep someone else going.

After receiving a letter from one of his life-saving recipients, Nathan's mom saw firsthand the profound impact of her son’s selfless gift. Through organ donation, his incredible spirit and generosity live on.

On race day, she’ll be wearing a button in his honor over her heart. Running with purpose, carrying a legacy in every step. As she puts it: "I may not be fast, but I’m grateful to still be able to do it for so many that can’t."

To Nathan’s mom: thank you for inspiring us all with your strength, gratitude, and love. We are so proud to run alongside you.💙💚

What a beautiful evening. Thank you for making The Symphony of Life Gala a tremendous success.

Our hearts are full after an unforgettable night celebrating Connecticut’s donation and transplant community. The energy in the room was palpable, the generosity was inspiring, and the joy was everywhere.

From the fantastic choir and great music by DJ Zerp to the excitement of the raffle and the fun of the photo booth, the evening truly reflected the spirit of this community. Most importantly, we had the privilege of honoring the lifesaving work that brings hope to so many.
