Hello East Baseball Families,
This is our official letter of resignation as the board of Madison East Baseball Boosters, effective after the election of the next board members. As we prepare to step away from the Madison East Baseball Booster Club, we have been thinking a lot about what these past three years have meant — not just to me, but to our players, our coaches, and this East Side community that shows up for each other in ways big and small.
Three years ago, Jake Hughes, Jessica Spindler, Tony Dugas, Dave Haselow and I built this Booster Club from nothing but hope, determination, and a belief that our kids deserved the same support and spirit that other programs take for granted. And together, we made that happen. Team meals, senior night, most valuable teacher night, fundraisers, end of the year banquets, winter baseball camps, assistant coach stipends, summer baseball, game jerseys that players could keep, fatheads, senior banners, laughter in the stands — all of it came from parents who cared enough to say, “Yes, I’ll help.” For three years, we tried to carry out the boosters mission as best we could.
“Our mission at Madison East High School Baseball Booster Inc is to foster a thriving and supportive community that enhances the overall experience of our student-athletes, coaches, and families. Through dedicated fundraising efforts, volunteerism, and collaboration with our school and local community, we aim to provide the resources and support necessary to cultivate a successful and inclusive baseball program. Our commitment is to promote sportsmanship, integrity, and academic excellence, while instilling values of teamwork, perseverance, and leadership in our student-athletes.”
Now it’s time for the next group of families to carry that mission forward.
Our underclassmen parents — freshmen, sophomores, juniors — you are the future of this program. Your kids will benefit the most from a strong Booster Club, and your leadership now will shape the experience they have for years to come. The roles don’t require perfection or huge amounts of time. They just require heart, consistency, and a willingness to keep the spirit alive.
We need parents to step into roles such as:
President
Vice president
Treasurer
Secretary
Communications & Social Media
Fundraising & Events
Team Meal Coordinator
Game‑Day Support Lead
If you’ve ever felt proud watching your player take the field… if you’ve ever wished the program had “just a little more”… if you ever worried your kid or their teammates would be hungry before the game…if you’ve ever wanted to make a difference but weren’t sure how — this is the moment.
The Booster Club only exists because parents choose to keep it going. And right now, East baseball needs you.
If you’re open to helping, curious about what the roles involve, or simply willing to talk it through, please reach out. Your involvement — even a small step — will matter more than you know.
Thank you for being part of this community, and for everything you do for our players. I’m grateful for every family who has walked this journey with me, and I believe deeply in the future of East baseball.
To the seniors, you’ve played through adversity, through constant rebuilding, and through seasons where you often had to find your own motivation, your own leadership, and sometimes even your own direction.
You showed up anyway.
You kept this team together when the circumstances around you didn’t always make it easy. You supported each other when guidance wasn’t always clear. You found ways to grow even when the path forward wasn’t always laid out for you.
That kind of resilience doesn’t come from perfect conditions. It comes from the heart. It comes from loyalty. It comes from teammates who refuse to quit on each other, even when the support around them wasn’t always what it could’ve been.
Younger players watched you lead — often by necessity. They saw you step up, take ownership, and create your own standard. And that standard is something this program desperately needed.
To the families: thank you for being the steady foundation through every high and every low, and for filling in the gaps that others couldn’t.
To the coaches who poured into these players: thank you for the moments of guidance and belief that helped them grow.
And to our seniors — all of you — your legacy is one of perseverance in the face of challenges you didn’t choose. You kept this program alive. You kept it moving forward. And you showed what true commitment looks like, even when the wins didn’t come and the support wasn’t always there.
You are stronger because of what you endured. You are leaders because you had to be. And you will always be part of East baseball. Wherever life takes you next, carry this truth with you: you are stronger because of these years. You are leaders because you stayed and endured as long as you could. You gave it your all and left it all on the field. And you will always, always be part of East baseball. We will always be part of East baseball.
Go Purgolders!
