On May 8th, Troop 201 alumnus Eagle Scout Jack Rice was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps. Jack is following in the footsteps of both his grandfather and his father Major Bill Rice (former Scoutmaster Troop 201) , who were both retired Marine Corps officers. Congratulations Jack!

Camp Crooked Creek was everything a summer camp could be! 24 boys from our Troop and 3 guests had a blast and learned a lot in merit badge classes, the COPE program, and the ATV program We earned Troop of the Day and the Most Spirited Troop award, had 3 boys earn their Mile Swim award, took home the trophy for the Scoutmaster Dutch Oven competition, as well as a strong showing in the warmest polar bear plunge ever, the Scoutmaster belly flop competition, and the camp wide Mafecking Challenge! One of our Scouts organized an inspiring Troop campfire program, and we enjoyed camp cooking several times throughout the week.
