Ok, folks. We're trying something a little different this time around. As the concerts at Rettich get more popular, we'd kind of like to know what's going on so we can close it out if it gets too full. To that end, we're doing the Eventbright thing, and hope you don't mind. You can always pay at the door, but we're also wondering if by using Eventbright we can figure a way to let the on-line buyers reserve a spot in the pizza line to get first crack before all the riff-raff. Here's the link:

Come join us for a night of music, pizza and fun at the Rettich Benefit Concert, all for a good cause!

Woah! On September 2, at the annual Madison Conservation Trust concert down at the Rettich preserve, it's not just music and pizza, it's also yoga in the morning, and Metabolic Mayhem In The Meadow at 10:30 courtesy of Coastline Fitness! That's right, exercise in the morning, relax in the evening. Head to either the Madison Land Conservation Trust website or Fire In The Kitchen Concert's website for details and reservations. Woo Hoo!!

Like OMG, good weather on a Sunday! What a novel idea!! You know it's a go when the porta potty shows up. So yeah, we're on for tomorrow's Pumpkin Bread Band show down at the Rettich Preserve tomorrow at 4! There are a couple of openings now, thanks to the rain postponement from last week, so come on down. Yeah, it's 30 bucks, but we're raising money for the Madison Land Conservation Trust, and all that they do to make Madison one fantastic town. Bring a picnic or enjoy burgers. For an even better day, ride your bike on down!

Well, the weather went and did exactly what it wasn't supposed to do, and causes us to have to postpone today's concert. What was going to be a fantastic afternoon with Pumpkin Bread Band down at the Rettich Preserve will simply be happening next Sunday, August 15. So to all of those who signed up, see you next Sunday!!

The Killingworth Land Trust Fundraiser with Joe K. Walsh and Celia Woodsmith for tomorrow is sold out, but that doesn't stop you from seeing Joe and friend Darol Anger with their band Mr. Sun come September. Nor does it stop you from grabbing one of the remaining spots or the Rettich Preserve fundraiser with Pumpkin Bread Band. That's August 8, at 4 PM. With Brittany Haas and Paul Kowert's band Hawktail in October, the forecast for weather may be rotten, but it's clear sailing for tunes. Here's a little snippet from Pumpkin Bread easing you into the day.

Pumpkin Bread plays "Pepitas" from our upcoming album 'Dear Starling', coming out in March 2019. Join the mailing list to stay tuned: http://eepurl.com/c4mNs...

So what's coming up?? This! I'm also in the process of doing a fundraiser for the Killingworth Land Trust this weekend, that's all sold out, so I've been remiss in posting this here. There are still a few spots left!! We're limited by parking, but other than that, it'll be a blast in the prettiest place in Madison.

Skunks in the barn! A rainy and cold day? No problem for skunks, as we inhabit the barn down at the Rettich Preserve. We’ll be rehearsing there weekly, Sundays at 4. Thrill to some filtered and non-filtered views! Be amazed as we use tractor seats as music stands! See ya there! (Hopefully outside next week...) We're warming up the fields, getting them used to music for the big fundraiser this August 8.

We're getting closer to having some music down at the Rettich Preserve for the August 8 fundraiser, so we need to warm up the grass a little, get it used to hearing tunes again. So the Skunks will be rehearsing there a bit this summer, right by the big old barn. This Sunday at 4, we'll be working on this great tune, as well as a bunch of others. Bring a picnic, stop on by, wander around the place while hearing some old time stuff.

While we will be doing a little something for the Rettich Preserve in the summer (yes, music and fun...) we're opening the summer with a fundraising show for our brothers and sisters over at the Killingworth Land Conservation Trust on July 18. That'll be in the afternoon, at 5. While I have a cool poster made by their chief of poster-making staff, I figure I'd clue you in to the musicians first. It'll be great stuff, so don't miss Joe K. Walsh, Berklee's finest, with Ceilia Woodsmith and a couple of their bests friends. Thirty bucks gets you in and helps their land trust out. Message me for a spot on the roster, or simply comment here.

It's been way to long since I added something here, and it's not like nothing's been happening. First, a follow-up to the show with the Ruta Beggars. We did raise just under 2k for the maintenance of Matt's mowing machine, which has done heavy duty down at the preserve ever since the opening. And of course, the amazing volunteers have been there all along mowing, working on cleaning top the overgrown grape vines and flowers beds, etc. So enjoy a little tune from the Ruta Beggras. They sounded great even after a long hiatus due to the virus.

The Ruta beggars played in front of a virus-free and socially-distanced reduced crowd despite a tropical storm racing through the area a few days prior which...
