Holy Cat Whiskers Rescue TRAP-NEUTER/SPAY AND RELEASE PROGRAM FOR FERAL CATS AND STRAYS We are the only Feral And Stray cat rescue 501(c)(3) in Lake County.

"Page/General Info" tab ->Wish List! Holy Cat Whiskers is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We are a Trap-Neuter/Spay and Release program for feral (born in the wild) cats. We provide housing/food for feral colonies to keep them under control. We adopt out kittens from our feral mothers and if possible, the mothers as well. At our shelter we bring in injured, sick or pregnant cats and nurse them back to good health. However, we do NOT handle domestic cats. Our goal is to reduce feline overpopulation and disease in our area.

Tapeworms in Dogs & Cats – Quick Owner Guide

Flat intestinal parasites usually picked up from fleas or prey.

👀 **What you’ll notice**
• Rice-like segments around the a**s, bedding, or stool
• Scooting or licking
• Most pets still look and act normal

🔄 **How they spread**
• *Dipylidium* → swallowing an infected flea
• Other tapeworms → rodents, rabbits, raw meat, or wildlife

🔬 **Diagnosis**
Routine f***l tests often miss them — bring a clear photo or sealed sample to your vet.

💊 **Treatment & prevention**
• Vet-prescribed tapeworm medication
• Strict flea control on every pet + the home
• Stop hunting, scavenging, and raw-meat exposure

👨‍👩‍👧 **People risk**
Some are zoonotic. Kids can accidentally swallow an infected flea. Wash hands and keep fleas under control.

**Education only — always contact your veterinarian.**
