Paul Filipowicz Blues Band
Saturday, September 19
6:00-7:30 pm
Main Stage

Blazing blues guitar legend PAUL FILIPOWICZ’s earned his stripes the old-fashioned way. Fifty years of one-nighters and live impassioned sweat-soaked true blues-guitar workouts. Clubs, roadhouses, festivals and gin-joints with dynamic performances, from Texas through Mississippi, New York City, Midwest, Denver to Ulan-Bator Mongolia, his finger picked guitar style developed into a unique, funky, immediately identifiable phrasing and tone. ‘You know you’re a bluesman and I know you’re a bluesman and every time you take the stage you got to prove it,’ Luther Allision told Paul. His bands 13 albums of dance-ready groves warrant critical acclaim in publications such as ‘Living Blues Radio charts #24 Midnight at the Nairobi Room 2001. #17 Chinatown 2004, #7 Chickenwire 2008,’, Blues Access, Down Beat, Blues Revue, Soul Bag (France). Real Blues (Victoria B.C.) picked him in the top 20 Texas Blues new releases two years in a row when Paul was on the Dallas based Gila Monster label. “We’re a dance energy bomb. Plain and simple. I love what we do, bringing release to the people, through music. We are modern day music medicine.
