We offer services such as food, prescription medicine, clothing, furniture, household goods, emergency financial assistance, storage lockers and guidance to neighbors in nee

We're proud to work with this dedicated group of local pantry leaders👏🏽
Leaders from Second Harvest Foodbank and 6 of Dane County's largest food pantries, including The River, met yesterday to discuss how we can continue meeting the growing needs of our community🙌
As more families face tough financial choices, our local emergency food network is serving more neighbors every day. Food pantries and food banks play distinct but equally vital roles in getting food to people who need it.
Yesterday marked the first of many collaborative conversations focused on ensuring everyone in Dane County has access to food🥰

Our trucking staff recently picked up 20 mattresses and platforms donated by Slumberland Furniture. These mattresses will be shared with families in our St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Program and provided as furniture vouchers. Big thanks to Slumberland’s 40 Winks and Home for the Holidays programs for the donation. 💙

1) The Food Pantry - We operate our food pantry which is one of Dane County's largest. A share of the food provided through our food pantry is purchased with money raised from our Thrift Store sales and helps 60,000+ individuals a year (40% are kids). During COVID-19 and thanks to community support, we are helping up to 160 families per day through curbside pickup.
2) Voucher Program - We provide vouchers to families coping with poverty for clothing, beds, furniture, cribs and basic household supplies.
3) Free Pharmacy - As the only free standalone pharmacy in the state of Wisconsin, we provide free prescription medications for uninsured adults with low-incomes. During COVID-19, we are writing free 90-day prescriptions for our 400 patients. We carry a wide variety of medication (including expensive insulin) to treat high blood pressure, diabetes, mental health, asthma and infections. We do not carry narcotics.
4) Housing for Men, Women and Children - At any one time over 50 men, women and children reside in our two housing programs on the east side of Madison off W***y St. We operate Port St. Vincent de Paul (up to 32 men) and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton House (transitional housing for up to nine single women and their families).
5) Vinny's Lockers - This is a storage program for people coping with homelessness. It is a safe and secure location to store their possessions.
6) Seven thrift stores in Dane County - Our thrift stores collect donated, gently used goods and sell them at a low cost. The revenue generated through the sales helps support our programs and services listed above.
