Twelve members of the Rutland 4-H club gathered to plant flowers last month. While this was the first flowers at the new town hall, the club has planted flowers at the old town hall for several years. “We have been planting flowers at the town hall for at least 15 years”,said Abbey Alderman club leader.
Older club members demonstrated potting techniques while younger members later participated in planting the few dozen plants. Members see this as more than just a learning opportunity. 8-year member, Greyson Wethel sees it as much more than that. “It grows the community and it makes the town hall look beautiful”.
The next time you’re visiting the new town hall look out for the blue planters, carefully planted and donated by your Rutland 4-H members.
