Summer Camp registration is OPEN!! Submit the interest form today!

Please complete this form if you are interested in enrolling your young person in Lussier’s 8-week Summer Camp from Monday, June 22 - Friday, August 14th. Please submit one form per child. We will notify you by May 1, 2026 on whether your young person has been accepted.

Thank you, W***y Street! We are so grateful for your support.

Representatives from our five local food pantry partners—The River Food Pantry, Wil-Mar Neighborhood Center, Goodman Community Center's Fritz Food Pantry, Lussier Community Education Center, and WayForward Resources—were at W***y North to get their checks for the Pantries Plenty campaign.

In November and December, for every dollar you donated to the Double Dollars Fund, the Co-op donated a dollar to be split between our food pantry partners, up to $15,000. The Co-op also matched the 10¢ we contribute to the Double Dollars Fund for every reusable shopping bag you used. Thank you to everyone who donated, and thank you to our food pantry partners for helping our community!

Hello, LCEC Friends and Community -

We are thrilled to announce that Brian Squire was offered and accepted the role of Executive Director at LCEC and began his new role on 2/2/26. Brian has done a fabulous job in his role as Interim Managing Executive over the last few months and we are confident he'll be a fantastic leader for the center.

For some of you Brian's name may feel familiar, and it should, here's why - Brian has spent over 30 years working for nonprofits in Madison, including six of them here at LCEC as the Elementary Program Manager from 2014-2020. He also served 2 years on our LCEC Board of Directors. Most recently he worked for Second Harvest and as a consultant for Vera Court and BLW Neighborhood Centers. Brian's community knowledge and relationships run deep and we are super excited for all he is bringing back to LCEC.

Brian is a loving dad of two wonderful kids, Sam (14) and Lucy (12), he is an avid runner who's competed in three marathons and countless other races. He loves to cook and is excited to be back at Lussier supporting our incredible meal and snack programs. Brian is a leader who demonstrates transparent, inclusive and compassionate communication, integrity, and consistent follow-through.

The most essential leadership skills staff and community members were looking for in a new ED were community engagement & relationship management, collaborative leadership & staff development, cultural competence and equity centered leadership. We believe Brian embodies all of those and are so excited to continue this work together as part of the LCEC community.

We are hiring for a Director of Youth Programs!

The Director of Youth Programs oversees and ensures high-quality, comprehensive after school and summer programming for elementary, middle, and high school students, as well as the Buffett Scholars and Youth Action Summer Internship (YASI) Programs.

🎶 Monthly Featured Playlist: Mane’s Mix 🎶

Meet Mane, a singer-songwriter and karaoke standout who has been on the air with WWMV-LP 95.5 FM for three years. His radio journey began in 5th grade with Michael Jackson Half Hour, where he sang and played his favorite MJ songs, and has since evolved into Mane’s Mix, a half-hour show featuring a wide variety of music with a strong country influence.

Airing Tuesdays from 7:00-7:30 p.m., Mane’s Mix reflects both his love for music and his growth as an artist. Mane is also an active local musician who performs regularly at venues throughout the community.
