Today, people are paddling the Delaware River not simply to reach a destination, but to remember one.

The Rising Nation River Journey reminds us that rivers connect more than places. They connect generations, cultures, wildlife, and communities. The water we enjoy today has carried countless stories long before any of us arrived.

Gratitude to the Lenape people for sharing this journey, to every volunteer who helps protect these waters, to those restoring habitat and teaching history, and to everyone who chooses stewardship over ownership.

May we leave the land healthier, the water cleaner, the air clearer, and our communities more connected than we found them.

From all of us at Sit Stay Heal.dog: thank you to the paddlers, organizers, elders, youth, and allies who continue this work. May we keep learning, listening, and caring for the places that care for us.
