Recently visited SPASH High School, and it was impressive to see the addition made to its automotive program about six years ago. The facility looks amazing! The large U-shaped lab is designed for teaching small engines, while the transportation lab is bright and spacious, with separate rooms for tools and equipment.

On top of that, enrollment in SPASH’s automotive classes continues to grow, even as many high schools are facing declining enrollment in similar programs.

Way to go, SPASH! Keep raising the bar and creating opportunities for students to take their automotive education to the next level.

Last week marked the 27th year of our annual teacher professional development conference. This multi-day training continues to make an impact, equipping teachers with the tools they need to thrive in their schools and communities.

The ultimate beneficiaries of this effort are the students, who will return to school in just a few weeks ready to benefit from their educators' enhanced skills.

Last week at the WATDA Summer Institute, it was inspiring to hear two Wisconsin teachers share their incredible journey. In just one year, they not only passed the required ASE exams, credentials they didn't have when they started, but also earned the support of their schools to achieve national accreditation.

Their story is a powerful reminder of what can happen with determination, perseverance, and a commitment to continuous growth. By investing in their own professional development, they are ensuring their students receive a top-quality automotive education that is recognized at both the state and national levels.

Congratulations to the outstanding educators from Fond du Lac High School and Mukwonago High School! Their hard work and dedication are making a lasting impact and serve as an inspiration for other programs to pursue ASE certification and national accreditation. Keep raising the bar!
