Slow Food UW-Madison We are a UW-Madison student group interested in where our food comes from, geographically and culturally. Visit our website: https://slowfood-uw.org/

All the SFUW events are held at 1127 University Ave, in the lower level of The Crossing. We appreciate having the opportunity to rent this venue location we are not religiously affiliated with them.

Slow Food UW is a chapter of the greater Slow Food movement and we are active students working through a variety of projects to help make a difference.

-The Cafe: A weekly lunch held on Wednesd

ays from 11:30am until 2:00pm in the lower level of the Crossing.

-Family Dinner Night: Dinners held weekly on Monday nights at 6:30pm in the lower level of the Crossing.

**The menus of the Cafe and Family Dinner Nights change weekly and you can find out what they are each week by being a member of our Facebook Group.

-Celebrate South Madison: Aiding underserved neighborhoods by connecting farmers, the UW campus, and the South Madison community

-Farm-to-University: Improving our campus food system through students working as a task force to educate and inform all about what is locally available.

-Ongoing outreach workshops on canning, composting, and other skills also trips to local farms.

-We also host lectures given by farmers and chefs and have volunteer opportunities for any of our projects.

Hi Slow Foodies!!🐌✨🌸Our LAST meal of the semester will be Cafe on Wednesday, April 29th at noon at The Crossing (1127 University Ave). We hope you will join us to have a delicious meal consisting of lasagna with spinach and roasted zucchini🥒🥬, bruschetta 2 ways with Mediterranean filling and Elote corn filling 🌽🍞, olive oil cake with brown butter frosting🍰 and lavender spritz🪻🍾 Thank you all for coming to our meals and being a part of the Slow Food community this semester!!😊💛Good luck with finals and we can’t wait to see you all next semester!

Join us on Thursday, April 23, for Sustainable Wellbeing: A Roundtable on Community & Student Health, from 6:30–8:30 p.m. at The Crossing (1127 University Ave.). The event will feature a no-cost dinner and presentations from student leaders in health-related fields, showcasing their work and how YOU can get involved!

Part of Earth Fest 2026, this event is hosted by the UW–Madison Office of Sustainability in collaboration with Associated Students of Madison Sustainability, Slow Food UW, and health-focused student organizations.

We will be making rainbow veggie flatbread pizza 🧅🥦🫑🍕, summer rolls with peanut sauce🥑🥜, dirt cake🪱🍫🍰 and a peach refresher! 🍑🥤. Get the entire meal for $7 with our works option!! - The carrots were from Tipi produce, a local family-run organic farm
- The garlic was from the People’s Farm, a UW on-campus club .uw
- The white button mushrooms were from River Valley Ranch, a local, sustainable farm and kitchen
- All other ingredients were from W***y Street Co-op, supporting responsible sourcing
