NAMI Dane County is honored to serve as a community partner for the Inner Realms: An Arts for All Benefit Exhibition at Carnelian Art Gallery!

This group art show features Wisconsin artists GG, Peter “Pita” Daniels, Fred Seger, Paulina Ivanova, Ryan “Da Da Da Da” Cain, Zelda Bean and Alan “Alwilt” Wiltgen, all of whom seek to explore and bring awareness to mental health through their respective works. Proceeds from this event will go to Arts for All.

WHEW! Our weeklong *press tour* to promote NAMIWalks came to a close this afternoon. We are so excited about all of the folks we have been able to reach and hope to see a lot of new faces at our NAMIWalks event on October 3rd at Warner Park!

Congratulations to the CARES Team and 5 years of making our community a better and safer place to live.

When we meet mental health crises with compassion, support, and resources, people get the help they need to begin a journey to recovery.

Five years ago, Madison launched a different way to respond to behavioral health emergencies.

CARES brings together a Journey behavioral health crisis worker and Madison Fire Department community paramedic to respond to people experiencing behavioral health emergencies in our community.

Since launching on September 1, 2021, CARES has responded to nearly 15,000 calls for service.

Today, we’re celebrating five years of this partnership - and all of the people who have helped CARES grow along the way. 💛

Tune in to WORT FM (89.9 FM) tonight to hear our take over of the 7pm-8pm time slot! WORT hands over the mic to the community for Access Hour every Monday and tonight - we are going live on air!

We will be chatting about the history of NAMI (Did you know it was founded right here in Madison?), the importance of fighting the stigma around mental illness, and all of the ways we support our community. And of course, all about our upcoming NAMIWalks event on October 3rd at Warner Park.

A few NAMI Dane County staff and board members were in attendance for the Packers Give Back game, which featured NAMI Wisconsin as the chosen charity. Representatives from across Wisconsin joined together to remind everyone to "Tackle the Stigma".

Highlights:

🌟Seeing the sea of teal shirts in the stands representing strong support for mental health across the state.
🌟Having people see our shirts and share stories of how NAMI helped them or a loved one in a tough time in their lives and how grateful they were for the support.
🌟Our Executive Director Jamie had the chance to go onto the field before the game and definitely DID NOT freak out (she totally did!)
🌟One of our staff kids got to experience his very first Packers game (and see his mom on the jumbotron!)

Loved starting the morning hanging out with Dee and the crew from 94.1 WJJO talking about all the great things NAMI Dane County does to support our community and how every dollar raised for our organization is a dollar that is spent locally.

Don't forget to check out Dee's Radiothon for Kids on 94.1. It's her 11th year doing this event and we are so honored to be one of the non-profit organizations that benefits from the generosity of WJJO listeners.
