It was great seeing all of you Madisonians and Trail Users at Madison’s Christmas Parade yesterday! It was our first year in the parade, and our ‘Keep It Real’ themed parade float aimed at promoting the use of a live plantable Christmas tree won second place!

We’ll see you out on the trail - Happy Trails and Merry Christmas!! 🎄🎅🏻

We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day for our Caring for the Birds Workshop! The kiddos and their families constructed and took home a bluebird house, learned about the care of bluebirds and purple martins from experts Betty and Ernie, and even got to take a peak inside the purple martin houses.

We have waited over three years for a Purple Martin to take residence in our “motel.” A senior male made his arrival just in time for our workshop today; he’s just waiting for a female mate to arrive from Brazil. We are thrilled! Be sure to come check him out next time you are on the Heritage Trail and Park.
