Situated on the north side of Madison, between Maple Bluff and Warner Park, this hidden gem of a neighborhood is known for its friendly residents and welcoming atmosphere. Situated around the Sheridan Triangle Park (and bordered by Brentwood Park to the north), this

neighborhood boasts of pleasant open spaces, easy access to downtown and the university, bus lines, shopping, and more. Sheridan Triangle Neighborhood is made up largely of single-family homes located on small lots, most often shaded by beautiful mature trees. Spring Yard Waste Collection Complete; They Will Be Back in the Fall

Spring yard waste collection is complete. Do not set out yard waste for pickup at this time.

If you have yard waste for disposal, take it to a drop-off site or compost it at home.

https://www.cityofmadison.com/streets/trash-recycling/drop-off-sites

Do not put yard waste into the trash cart. Yard waste has been banned from Wisconsin landfills for over 30 years. And, don't put your yard waste in the recycling cart - it doesn't go there either.

"Yard waste" is material like leaves, grass clippings, and other plant debris you rake or pull from your lawn or garden.

The branches, limbs, and sticks from your trees, shrubs, and bushes is brush, not yard waste. Brush crews use different equipment, follow different schedules, and grind up all your sticks and branches into wood mulch. Brush collection continues until August or September (depending on where you live).

Why does yard waste pickup end now? Crews collecting yard waste need to move onto other duties the city performs, like road repair work.

Curbside yard waste pickup will return in the fall.

Madison residents and taxpayers can take trash, recycling, brush, yard waste, electronics, large items, styrofoam for recycling, and cooking oil to the drop-off sites.Proof of residency or taxpayer status is required to use the site.On this page you will find:

There is a new resource for information about air quality in your neighborhood. Data from the City of Madison's low-cost air quality sensors is now available on the Love My Air Wisconsin website. Residents can now access real-time measurements of particulate matter at more than 40 locations across town.

Love My Air Wisconsin displays hour-by-hour data on fine particulate matter. These particles can cause serious health problems when we breathe them in. With this new tool, users can explore sensor readings, view air quality trends in their neighborhoods, and learn about actions to reduce exposure. Free Mulch for Madison Residents

Madison residents can scoop up to 30 gallons (or 6 five-gallon buckets) of mulch for free.

Starting on April 11, 2026, free mulch will be available at the brush processing center, 121 E. Olin Avenue.

The free mulch is in a corral to the left after you enter the brush processing center. Do not approach the large mulch pile for free scoops of mulch.

Free mulch supply is limited.

Mulch is not guaranteed to be available when you arrive. Free mulch will be restocked as staffing allows. They work to keep the free mulch stocked as much as they possibly can.

A Recycling Survey (and Quiz)

The City of Madison would like to hear from you about how they can help you recycle better. Survey at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/3ZTWQB9

The amount of trash in the recycling seems to be stuck around 19%. So, they know there's work to do on teaching folks on how to recycle the right way.

So, they want to hear from you – how would you like them to reach out to you better about recycling? What are some ideas you have?

Please take this survey and let the know: https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://cityofmadison.us17.list-manage.com/track/click?u=dcc6f50df19aeec2fd56eb1fa&id=7c4327d313&e=d07b6273c3__;!!Mak6IKo!MdpfBjaC13rVgdc3inkUgd2VO61AplCC-sTyZwcEY9Gb4qzuOjV_DKYCJCglme4S1EIKqdO_bay5Rsm8TJ1o1GE0$

They are working with an intern from UW-Madison to help gather responses and eventually crunch the information gathered from this to guide them on what they can do to help improve their recycling information sharing. And if you see some flyers around town about the survey over the summer – that's what this is about.

Feel free to share that survey with your friends, neighbors, social media followers, coworkers, and others who may be interested in helping the city. They have the survey posted to the city's recycling website if you would rather access it through that webpage. https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://cityofmadison.us17.list-manage.com/track/click?u=dcc6f50df19aeec2fd56eb1fa&id=96e7ba320a&e=d07b6273c3__;!!Mak6IKo!MdpfBjaC13rVgdc3inkUgd2VO61AplCC-sTyZwcEY9Gb4qzuOjV_DKYCJCglme4S1EIKqdO_bay5Rsm8TLZLkLfv$

There is also a short quiz that they came up with as well if you want to test your recycling knowledge: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/LGDW8KN
