We had a wonderful meeting at the new location of the Textile Arts Center of Madison yesterday afternoon. Co-director Elizabeth Tucker gave an introduction and history to newbies and updated all of us on ongoing classes, camps, exhibits, artists in residence, sales, and more, and we were able to shop some very lovely fabrics for a song. What a terrific resource for our community of fiber enthusiasts!

MASG's July Membership meeting is tonight, July 14th, at 7pm CT. Tonight's meeting features Dennis Schell, founder and lead designer of Costumes by Schell. Dennis has over 40 years of experience in theatrical costume design and historical recreations. He will be speaking to both the creative and practical sides of the work--from building historically accurate garments to running a costume business and designing for the stage. Dennis will also be bringing a couple of garments to show us in person as well! The meeting will be held in the dining room of Agrace, 5395 East Cheryl Parkway, Madison, WI. We welcome newcomers and people who want to see what MASG is all about. Please join us!

Don't be a solo sewist. Sewing doesn't need to be a solo activity. The Madison Chapter of the American Sewing Guild invites you to attend our next meeting on Tuesday, June 9th, at 7pm at Agrace, 5395 East Cheryl Parkway, Fitchburg, WI. Our June speaker will be demonstrating how to identify fabric content by a burn test. We welcome all fiber artists to attend our meetings to discover what we are all about!
