Another bright spot in Connecticut.

More than $11 million in federal tax credits was awarded to six towns and cities statewide to support affordable housing. Nearly 500 apartments will be renovated or constructed with the money.

HOPE was honored to give a tour of our properties and educate other CT communities on our community-based approach to providing affordable housing. A big thanks to Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) who coordinated the tour and to our partner The Caleb Group on the Wellington project. I was a gorgeous day and the energy was positive!

While an opinion, a well thought out one.

Closing Connecticut's affordable housing gap requires layered financing structures combining tax credits, public grants and private capital — and lenders should play a broader role moving projects from concept to completion.

Sometimes it feels like one step forward and three back. Support in CT continues to grow so there is hope and surety.

CT, NJ and RI are only states that lost housing per capita since 2020. Others have built more than enough to account for population growth.
