Wintry weather is likely late Thursday afternoon through Friday, especially across the northern portions of the area. A mixture of snow, sleet, and freezing rain is likely, with heavy snow possible across northern portions of the region. This will lead to hazardous to even dangerous travel conditions in some portions and additional impacts to utilities. Keep checking the latest forecasts throughout this week, as more detailed information will become available.

Happy New Year to Ashbrooke! A few quick reminders: yellow cards aren't the end of the world, and Homeland won't evict you. Instead, they're reminders that something outside the norm needs correction or communication. Homeland understands that life happens and isn't present daily. So something might have just changed the day before and they do not know that. Please communicate with them, and they'll work with you. Covenants and Bylaws protect property values, and Homeland aims to help. We're excited for 2025 and our community!

With frigid temperatures moving in, remember these tips for dripping your water faucets!

Why?? Because a slight but steady stream of water through faucets during prolonged cold spells can help prevent pipes from freezing.

đź’§How much water do I run? You need just a trickle of water to drip so that water is moving through the pipes consistently.

đź’§How long do I run the water? Let the hot and cold faucet drip until temperatures are consistently above freezing to be on the safe side.

💧Isn’t it expensive to let the faucet drip? At the rate the water is dripping, it will fill a gallon pitcher in about an hour. At current rates, this will cost about 2 cents per night to drip one faucet. Much cheaper than broken pipes and water damage!

đź’§Which faucet/s should I drip? If you know the farthest faucet from your water meter, you can run only that faucet and it will draw water all the way through the house.

💧Can’t I just open the cabinet doors? Opening the cabinets to allow warm air into those enclosed spaces can help, but most pipe problems happen in places that are not as accessible. Uninsulated pipes in uninsulated spaces, especially garages, crawl spaces, and attics, are usually the places more likely to have problems with freezing.
