Village Health Project UW-Madison student org & NPO collaborating with grassroots organizations in Lweza, Uganda to improve village sanitation, nutrition, and education.

At VHP, a student-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, we fight to improve nutrition and sanitation, enhance children's education, and promote female empowerment in our partner-community of Lweza, Uganda. VHP was founded in 2006 with the goal of implementing community-based projects that advance the health of village members. By focusing on sustainable health interventions and strong community partnerships, we hope that Lweza will eventually become a model village for other communities throughout Uganda and Sub-Saharan Africa.
