October is Dyslexia Awareness Month! 💙

For the 1 in 5 children with dyslexia, having a teacher who understands how they learn to read can be life-changing.

Last month, we had the privilege of working with these amazing teachers from the DeForest Area School District. This team spent three days deepening their knowledge of multisensory structured literacy and gaining new tools to help students with dyslexia and other reading difficulties.

When they got together for a meeting this week, they coordinated wearing their CLF shirts and sent us this photo! We love it!!

We're so grateful for these dedicated educators and all they do for our students every. single. day!

Our team had an awesome day on Saturday at the Sun Prairie Multicultural Fair (Sun Prairie Public Library) sharing literacy tips, demonstrating hands-on activities, and providing free take-home literacy kits to families.

We even made the Sun Prairie news with CLF Board Member and Sun Prairie teacher Heidi Craemer showing off what we like to call the Elkonin Box Strut (IYKYK)!

Since launching in 2024, we have trained more than 130 educators, including 30+ from the Sun Prairie Area School District! It was fun to spend the day connecting with so many of the children and families who are benefiting from this work!

Sun Prairie celebrated its diverse community at the city's annual Multicultural Fair on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2026.
