Black Woman Heal UW-Madison

Black Woman Heal UW-Madison Black Woman Heal is a student organization on the UW-Madison campus. We aim to support Black women students overcome barriers that prevent college success.

Black Woman Heal! support Black women who were victims of sexual and mental assault and teach them how to heal themselves through their minds, bodys, and spirits. We create safe spaces for black women in order for them to feel at peace, serenity, and joy
Black Woman Heal! will create opportunities for students who identify with the African diaspora to engage in culturally affirming gatherings that

usher in healing and well being; these gatherings will serve to help students overcome any obstacles that might interfere with higher education pursuits. will increase the academic persistence students who identify with the African diaspora by bridging the gap between Black women students and the greater Madison community for Afro-centric support in mental health, wellness, personal care and the faith community. We will pay particular attention to the cultivation of relationships between current Black female students and alumni of the same demographic, to build a genuine and supportive sense of sisterhood that edifies, empowers, and encourages. will inspire members to reach their full potential by providing professional development via volunteer and internship opportunities from campus and greater Madison community professionals, focusing on initiatives and projects geared toward Black girls and women. Special attention will be paid to students in the help/healing professions such as social work, non-profit organization and counseling.
