💙👟See what's new for Breakthrough T1D Walk!

Mississippi Walkers, get ready for a few new ways to show up for your T1D Champion. We are so excited to introduce some new opportunities to show support, create connection, and keep inspiring each other when we gather to Walk in October.

🪧Mile of Hope is becoming the "Breakthrough Mile" where you can walk alongside signs honoring local T1D Champions and the journeys that inspire us to keep moving breakthroughs forward.

đź©·Share a message of hope, inspiration, or love on our Community Wall. By the end of the day we'll have a powerful display from our T1D Community!

🚩Grab a T1D Community flag that represents your T1D connection and wave it proudly!

Breakthrough T1D 2027 Children’s Congress will take place June 28 – July 1, 2027, in Washington, D.C.

Every two years, more than 160 youth with type 1 diabetes (T1D) between ages of 4 – 17 gather in Washington, D.C., to meet face-to-face with some of the top decision-makers in the U.S. Government. The selected Delegates represent all 50 states and the District of Columbia, as well as Breakthrough T1D’s International Affiliates. As participants in Breakthrough T1D Children’s Congress, Delegates have a unique and empowering opportunity to help Members of Congress understand what life with T1D is like, while forming lasting bonds with fellow youth who live with this autoimmune disease.

Applications open Sep 8 at cc.breakthrought1d.org

Represent Breakthrough T1D in a bigger way, and apply for our Youth Ambassador program!

Applications for the 2026-2027 academic year close in only 3 days on September 4th, so apply today!

The Youth Ambassador Program (YA) was created to develop youth leaders within the type 1 diabetes (T1D) community. Youth Ambassadors inspire others by sharing their T1D story, raise awareness for Breakthrough T1D, educate the broader community about T1D, and directly impact Breakthrough T1D’s mission to create a world without T1D.

The program is comprised of children and teens (ages 5-18) with T1D who share about their life with the disease in an effort to create a deeper awareness of the Breakthrough T1D mission and to help the community understand the importance of funds for a cure. This program also offers opportunities for members to develop leadership skills, build confidence in talking about T1D, connect with peers living with T1D, and much more.
