After YEARS of anticipation, our beloved Melly Mell's Soul Food is opening at the Madison Public Market - and we're celebrating with a GRAND OPENING & RIBBON CUTTING this Friday, October 16 at 5PM!

For more than 15 years, Carmell “Melly Mell” Jackson has been feeding Madison's body and soul. A multiple-time Madison Black Restaurant Week Community Favorite Caterer winner, Carmell has also been a mentor and champion for fellow food entrepreneurs, generously sharing her knowledge to help others succeed.

As one of the earliest entrepreneurs to commit to the Madison Public Market, Carmell participated in the MarketReady program, preparing for this milestone years in the making.

We are preparing to celebrate our community nominated North Stars this Friday, 10/16 at Warner Park Community Recreation Center. Social hour 5-6 pm and awards ceremony 6-7:15 pm. Always a powerful and inspiring night hearing all the good work being done by fellow Northsiders!

Welcome to October! Another month of food cart activity in our region and then the season wraps up (weather dependent, of course). Despite the rain, food carts are loading up at FEED Kitchens this morning in the hopes that you will seek them out for lunch. It's been a tough season for entrepreneurs this year, with the number of event cancellations and high prices for all their inputs making it hard to get ahead. Help them finish out the season strong!
