Our Scouts traveled to Camp Binachi in Meridian this weekend for a fun (and chilly!) campout.

They hiked, shot BB guns, arrows, and slingshots, did leatherworking (ask to see the cool leather pouches they made!), played games, and worked their way through obstacle courses. They also went on a hayride.

They learned about fire warnings and what being under a fire warning means in a practical sense. They even witnessed a fire getting out of control on the drive down, which perfectly underscored the importance of taking fire warnings seriously! And don’t worry—-even under strict fire warnings, our leaders made sure the Scouts had s’mores!

As always, they also took part in the responsibilities of camping and “leave no trace” principals by working in “police lines” to check for trash and assisting with meal prep.

These Scouts will sleep very well tonight!!!

As our Scouts get settled into their tents for a chilly night of camping, here’s a throwback to our last campout when the Scouts learned about alligators!

As always, we are grateful for all of the people who take the time to share their expertise with our Scouts!
