The crayons may be put away, but the impact Connie Jenkins Weakley leaves behind will last forever! After 25 years as a Head Start Teacher Assistant in Madison, Connie is officially trading in early mornings and classroom adventures for relaxation, fun, and retirement freedom!

For a quarter of a century, Connie has helped little learners grow, encouraged countless smiles, wiped tears, shared hugs, and made every classroom brighter with her caring heart and joyful spirit. Her dedication has touched generations of children and families, and she will truly be missed.

Connie, thank you for the laughter, love, patience, and passion you brought to Head Start every single day. Now it’s your turn to enjoy the next chapter. Please join us in congratulating Connie on her retirement and celebrating 25 incredible years of service!

Yesterday we celebrated our amazing Head Start children in Warren County and all they’ve accomplished this year! From first friendships and big smiles to learning, growing, and gaining confidence every day, we are so proud of each and every one of them. Join us in celebrating our little stars as they shine bright and prepare for their next big adventure!

Thank you to our families, teachers, and staff for making this year so memorable and successful. Together, we are building strong foundations for lifelong learning!

Honored to have our CEO, Simon Fiscus, join other Head Start leaders in attending Abigail Spanberger’s ceremonial signing of bipartisan legislation expanding access to affordable childcare in Virginia.

At Skyline CAP, we know affordable childcare is more than a convenience; it’s a foundation for strong families, stable employment, and thriving communities. In our recently completed Community Needs Assessment, access to affordable childcare emerged as one of the top concerns voiced by families across our region.

That’s why this legislation matters so deeply. Seeing leaders come together across the aisle to support working families gives us hope and renewed energy for the work ahead. When parents have access to safe, affordable childcare, children have greater opportunities to thrive, employers benefit from a stronger workforce, and entire communities grow stronger.

We’re grateful to everyone who helped make this legislation possible and proud to stand alongside partners and advocates working toward a brighter future for Virginia families.

This Memorial Day, we pause to honor and remember the brave military personnel who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country. Their courage, dedication, and selflessness will never be forgotten.

In observance of Memorial Day, Skyline CAP offices will be closed on Monday, May 25, 2026.

We wish everyone a safe and meaningful holiday as we reflect on those who gave their lives in service to our nation.

What a way to celebrate an amazing year at Skyline CAP’s Head Start classroom in Page! Our end-of-the-year celebration was packed with laughter, games, sweet treats, and so many happy smiles. From fun activities to yummy snacks, the day was full of memories our little learners won’t soon forget!

We may have even set a new record for the number of family members who came out to join the fun — and our hearts are so full because of it! Thank you to all the families, friends, and staff who helped make this celebration extra special for our children.

What an incredible way to wrap up a fantastic school year. We are so proud of our Head Start kiddos and can’t wait to see all the amazing things they do next!

This valuable program starts June 1!

School is almost out, and summer is here! Orange County Public Schools Nutrition Services will once again offer FREE breakfast and lunch meals for all children ages 1–18 this summer. Meals will be available Monday through Thursday from June 1 through July 16, and no registration is required.

Summer program starts June 3!

Mark your calendars because the Sun Meals Food Distribution is officially back for the summer, starting on Wednesday, June 3! These summer meals are completely free and available for ALL children between the ages 1 and 18. Please help us support our community by sharing this post with your friends and family so we can ensure every child has access to healthy food this summer.
