How do people of faith of African descent—called to scholarship, justice, and witness—respond faithfully to the Supreme Court’s rollback of voting protections, the UN’s global affirmation of our dignity, and the biblical call to truth, repair, and communal flourishing? As we continue to gather around the theme “Using Our Voice” (Luke 19:40), this month we will hear from two speakers: Dr. Nicholas Rowe on “Global Declarations, Local Consequences: How People of Faith of African Descent Must Think, Know, and Live”, and Dr. Vanessa Quainoo on “From Chattelization to Reparatory Justice: A Biblical Call for Scholars of African Descent”. Following their presentations, Dr. Dennis Edwards will give a response leading into the Q&A portion of the evening.
