Southwest Area Plan Final Review and Approval Process to begin!
The Southwest Area Plan is about to begin the City's final review and approval process. The final draft is now available. The Plan will be introduced to the Common Council at its Tuesday, May 5, 2026 meeting. Consideration of the Plan draft will run concurrent with an ordinance amending the Comprehensive Plan to reflect maps and other information contained within the Southwest Area Plan. After introduction, the plan will be referred to relevant Boards, Commissions and Committees, which may propose changes to the plans before the Common Council makes a decision on final approval.

The anticipated review schedule below is subject to change. If changes occur, a revised review schedule will be sent to the email list.

Each Board, Commission and Committee meeting during the adoption process will provide the opportunity for public comment. Agendas and instructions on how to register for public comment — both spoken and written comments — are typically posted the Friday prior to each meeting. Agendas will be posted on the meeting notice pages linked in the timeline below.
