Non-emergency medical transportation can help make trips to the doctor, dentist, or therapy a little easier.

Transportation options may include:

At Family Voices of Wisconsin, we think siblings of children with special health care needs and disabilities are pretty incredible!

Being a sibling means learning about love, patience, and strength in ways that can be hard to describe.

Siblings may be best friends, understand daily care needs, adapt how they communicate, and navigate a world that looks different from what many others experience. They may sit at hospital bedsides, join therapy visits, and live with uncertainty right alongside their families.

They are resilient, compassionate, and often understand more than we realize.

But siblings need support too. Their feelings matter. Their stories matter and they deserve space to be heard, understood, and around others who just "get it" too.

That's why we're so pleased to share two exciting opportunities, just for the sibs!

A Functional Screen looks at how a child functions in everyday life and what supports they may need.

As parents, we spend so much time celebrating what our kids can do well. But during a Functional Screen, it’s important to talk about the hard stuff, too.

The Rosy vs. Realistic example can be really helpful when thinking about how we describe our kids during the screen.

October is Health Literacy Month, and that’s what we’re all about — sharing information in plain language so families have information they can understand and use. 💙

Parents of children with complex medical needs: You are not alone. 💙

Connecting Families is offering a FREE virtual peer support group for parents to share experiences, build connections, and learn from families who understand the journey.

There is still plenty of time to join!
Sessions will take place on Wednesday's from 7–8 PM via Zoom.

Discussions will explore the 6 F-Words of Child Development: Functioning, Family, Fitness, Fun, Friends, and Future.
