We were honored to receive an official proclamation from the City of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, USA Common Council celebrating 60 years of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Dane County. Mayor Steve Stocker presented the proclamation, and we’re especially grateful to Alder and Alumni Big Sister Maureen Crombie for inviting us to receive this special recognition.

Join us, along with Sun Prairie Optimist Club, tomorrow at the Sun Prairie Public Library to hear firsthand about our work, learn what it takes to become a mentor, and see how a couple of hours a month can make a difference in a young person’s life.

Meet Max!

Seven-year-old Max is outgoing, sweet, and creative. He loves drawing, painting, coloring, and creating animations on his tablet. When he’s not creating, you might find him building with Legos, playing basketball, or playing video games.

Max is hoping to be matched with a Big Brother who will spend time with him, whether that’s walking around the mall, going swimming, catching a movie, or visiting an arcade.

Max is one of the many kids on our waitlist. Could YOU be the mentor he’s been waiting for?

A fun crew of Matches and staff hit the streets last night for the Sun Prairie Corn Fest Parade! 🌽

We had a blast tossing candy, waving to the crowd, and being part of one of Sun Prairie’s favorite summer traditions.

While we loved celebrating with the community, we also want to share an important reminder: there are Littles in Sun Prairie waiting for a mentor. (Some boys are even waiting years to be matched with a Big Brother!)

We're getting ready to launch our School Friends mentoring program for the 2026-2027 school year!

We have 50 volunteer spots available, and we’re looking for caring adults who can give just one hour a week to spend time with a student at their school.

Since 2021, Maddie and Autumn's time together has spanned everything from zoo trips, swimming, and mini golf to pottery, LEGO builds, and impromptu car-ride sing-alongs.

Baking remains a standout favorite, especially when Autumn spots a new recipe to test - whether it's cupcakes, pancakes, or holiday rice crispy treats. Throughout it all, Maddie focuses on following Autumn's lead and encouraging her ambition to become a veterinarian.

Their connection is reflected in the small details, like the handmade necklaces Autumn created featuring two hearts labeled "Big Sister" and "Little."

Our Back-to-School Event brought BBBS Matches and families together to get ready for the school year!

Littles picked out their very own backpacks and school supplies, played games, and spent time with others in the program. The event was a fun way to come together and help make sure our Littles have some of the supplies they need for the year ahead.
