A series of has displaced over 75,000 people in northeast . Now, the funding freeze, implemented by the Trump Administration, is making it even harder for organisations to deliver critical food, healthcare, and emergency aid to affected communities.

🚨 Urgent life-saving healthcare provision, and food and medicine distribution suspended.
🚨 Homes, schools and health centres damaged and unsafe.

Collaborating with Traditional Birth Attendants (TBAs) to ensure safe, culturally appropriate care for Indigenous Maya women during pregnancy is a key pillar of our work in Guatemala.

We help to facilitate collaborative events with Indigenous Maya TBAs and Ministry of Health staff where they can exchange knowledge on improving antenatal care practices, home deliveries, newborn care, and emergency referrals to public health facilities.

Through these events 532 Ministry of Health staff have also been trained in culturally sensitive practices, vital for improving maternal healthcare among Indigenous Maya women.

Set up a regular donation today to enable us to commit to long-term initiatives, like our work with TBAs to improve maternal and child health.
