Slide 1 :
Quail Comics is on a mission to create more publishing opportunities for indie artists. Our mission is to help aspiring artists earn money for their original work without worrying about production costs. Our clients' work is sold all across the Midwest at art conventions, local bookstores, and online.

Slide 2:
Curvy Girl Comics (aka Jamie Kadas) uses personal experiences to create stories that focus on body image, anxiety, and being a woman. Additionally, she creates fat pin-ups that reimagine pop culture in a more inclusive light. You can follow her on Instragram and Facebook or check out her website JamieKadas.com

Slide 3: Four Seasons
Four Seasons Magazine seeks to create a platform for Chinese-language speakers—including those who use Mandarin, Cantonese, Hokkien (with regional varieties), Traditional Chinese, and other dialects of the broader Sinosphere—in the U.S. Midwest. The magazine will serve as a space to write, exchange ideas, and practice the freedom of publishing, reflecting lived experiences and addressing shared concerns.

Slide 4: Emery Wardin
Emery Wardin is a midwestern based comic artist and printmaker. She creates in a variety of mediums working between digital, relief printmaking, screenprinting and more. While her webcomics stick to comedy, her other work varies from humor to horror to how-to.

Wrapping up our vendor highlights this week of Madison Print & Resist Zinefest!

Slide 1 :Another World Press .e.t.music
Another World Press is a print collective operating out of Minneapolis, MN. We focus on mutual aid, horizontal organizing, and creating community structures beyond state power. We make zines & prints & shirts and things, and make things for other people, too! Another world is possible, is happening, is being being born.

Slide 2: Jennings Mergenthal
I am a historian who makes activity books about the crimes and atrocities of the United States government and case histories about people's movements building collective power. I believe that learning should be fun and that fun should involve just a bit of learning.

Slide 3:
Counterculture art and information activism zines by a librarian who tables at fests to build the zine reading room to serve our local zine community

Slide 4:
A little bit of everything - b&w art, creative fiction and nonfiction, poetry. Lots of work by Milwaukee and Wisconsin folks, but also include people from various states and usual a few other countries. We advise submitters that we seek submissions from "the heart or the gut."
Presently gearing up for our 4th issue.

Slide 5:
Luka, of the Lu-Collection, uses recycled materials to tell stories and teach art. He is currently focusing on art workbooks, political perzines, and totally made-up fluff. Luka also features posters as part of a fundraiser for a mutual aid organization.

MP&R Vendor Highlights:
Slide 1 : and
Toasted Sister artist and owner, Andi Murphy (Dińe) is a journalist who has been focusing on Indigenous food for more than a decade. Her art, like her zine making and award-winning podcast, Toasted Sister, is a celebration of Indigenous food. Andi also loves animals and a punk aesthetic, which is also reflected in her art.

Slide 2:
The Folcik-Orr Gazette is a charming one-page newsletter created by a mother — son duo who pour their creativity, curiosity, and love of science into every monthly issue. Each edition weaves together handwritten science facts, poetry, playful illustrations, mazes, comics, and drawing prompts that invite readers to explore, wonder, and create. Printed in black and white, the Gazette feels like a tiny treasure map of ideas, sprinkled with joy, science, and imagination.

Slide 3:,
Finn and Mimi are a cartoonist and printmaker duo based in Madison. Finnian’s comics blend autobiographical storytelling with abstract visuals to create his solo-anthology comic book “Line of Sight”. Mimi makes interactive comics and art books about climate change action.

Slide 4:
Lee Onysko is a storyboard and comic artist from Ohio, transplanted to Chicago. They love making funny and heartfelt stories with their friends. Self proclaimed and friend endorsed robot lover, cat person, and space nerd, they love a good sci-fi/fantasy story, but can always be tempted by the mundane and slice-of-life. While they mostly work digitally, they have been branching out recently into traditionally inking comics and block printing.

georgi loves research, story telling and the philosophy that any idea can be turned into a zine. They enjoy making miniature zines to pack a lot of fun into a small space. When not making zines, they can be found exploring places by foot, listening to audiobooks, swimming in Lake Michigan and hunting the ground for treasures.

Slide 1 :
Ben Mehlos is a trans comic artist, writer and independent publisher from Wisconsin, who’s returned from splashy genre comics to raw q***r erotica, zines and riso art objects in midlife. He believes sexual expression is human, and q***r sexual expression is sociopolitically more crucial than ever.

Moody is a zine and small (sometimes riso) press made up of contributions by q***r and/or BIPOC creatives. Since its fruition in 2020, Moody has shifted from monthly issues to periodic special issues and now serves as a publisher. Original issues featured multiple new creatives paid to share not only images of work, but stories, poems, notes, QR codes to media, and anything else put onto a page. Now, Moody offers design, publishing, and printing assistance to this same population of creatives in order to create and release their own zines via the platform Moody continues to tend and grow.

Crucial Comix is an artist-centered, narrative-nonfiction press that is rooted in collaboration, community-building, and mutual enthusiasm. Our goal is to make comics-creation accessible to a new era of artists. We work to expand the reach of independent cartoonists, build a mutually supportive comics community around the world, and to empower people of all backgrounds with the skills to powerfully write, draw, and share their own stories.

I am a transbutch screen printer and illustrator whose work focuses on midwestern nature, native Wisconsin plants and wildlife, q***rness and community. I have a collection of screenprint posters/prints, shirts, and sew-on patches, and illustrated stickers.

Creeping closer to Madison Print & Resist Zinefest!!

Vendor Highlights:

Slide 1 :
51 Personae is a self-sustaining independent art publishing project, believing that publishing is both an urgent and valid artistic practice. It places special emphasis on life experiences in Asia and the Third World, as well as marginalized voices under suppression, exploring the contemporary forms, possibilities and potential of "realism" in art as expressive actions.

Slide 2:
I’m currently writing three independent comics! All my characters are original and I focus specifically on Q***r Sci-fi and Political Satire. I specialize in traditional media as well.

Slide 3:
I am a student and artist that has discovered zines with the past few years. I love to make mini zines that I can easily share with others but I also like to make unique zines that are hard to replicate. Sharing my art with others has helped me feel a sense of community.

Print & Resist Zinefest Vendor Highlights

Slide 1 :
I'm a creative technologist and craftsman transforming algorithms into tactile book-objects using Risograph and letterpress. My practice explores how digital code generates rhythmic images that are bound within the architectural form of handmade books.

Slide 2: FakeWork
Im an electronic, experimental, retro futurist. I make Electronic music and electronic creativity tools. I write zines about my creative process, drum machines, logic v chaos, and sci-fi films. Deeply interested in the interaction between technology and human nature.

Slide 3:
Drawing Zines - CHOPSHOP is a themed anthology drawing zine recent subjects are "Buildings" & "Cities" - a group show of 70+ artists in a 7"sq photocopied & saddle stapled zine. I also do my own small drawing zines - I will have PIPES, Twenty-Two Typewriters, Twenty-Four Televisions, TREES, and City.

Slide 4: Plagiarist Press
I will be showing my artists' accordion books as well as a free box of assorted zines and printed matter from the archive of Lloyd Dunn (Tape Beatles, Photostatic zine). As a former zine editor (Box of Water and Schism magazine) any printed matter that is against the status-quo is OK by me!

MP&R Vendor Highlights
Slide 1 :
The Papermancy Guild is a group founded by me that prioritizes the pleasure of tactile cognition over speed and productivity. We aren't anti-tech, but we celebrate the resilient ephemerality of zines, self-publishing, papercrafts, notebooks, junk journals, and more. We are enthusiastically solar-punk progressive neuroq***r individuals, and our work reflects that.

Slide 2:
Based in Madison, WI, Oxeye Press publishes limited editions of handmade chapbooks, artists’ books, and related ephemera. We focus on experimental writing, letterpress printing, and friendship.

Slide 3: .books
TOMATO TOMATO TOMATO/Short Leash Editions is a collaborative publishing practice between Izze Norman and Emma Dwyer. They claim to publish books, but can’t agree on what counts as a “book”. We think “books” can be bodies and space for feeling and words printed on paper. Form and narrative are of equal importance. Language has many holes. If you want to know what our books are about, read them.

Slide 4:
Studio Zosimos is an independent publisher of tabletop role-playing games, zines, art, and writing based in Madison, WI. We're passionate about using the analog power of letterpress and risograph printing to facilitate empowering, collaborative storytelling, and we're fascinated by fantastic stories of arcane worlds and esoteric wonders.

Slide 5:
I print all my work old-school letterpress, with hand set wood and metal type. I work in a tactile, hands-on, deliberate and slow process as a deliberate counter to the constantly accelerating pace of social media and AI slop, and ask, what messages are too important to limit to electronic communication? What demands the focus and attention to commit to ink and paper? What words need to be tended to by hand?

Madison Print & Resist Vendor Highlights:
Slide 1 :
I am an autistic, q***r and disabled artist and mother. Making art is what allows me to regulate my nervous system. Through all of my processes of making, I create objects and experiences that resonate with the human yearning for safety and acceptance. I want to break cycles of harm within my family and community by introducing imagery and statements reminding us that the world can be different.

Slide 2:
At Mordecai Book Building & Letterpress, my mission is to create useful, well-made books and prints that inspire creativity, productivity, and learning.

Slide 3: Sophie Wang
I make zines, comics, prints, and art books that bring a critical power lens to science, technology, epistemology, and forms of knowledge-making, and an experiential lens to my second generation Chinese American experience and other parts of my life. My bread and butter are my comics that make science and social justice topics more accessible, like equity and exclusion in science museums and how worker communities at the Port of LA have resisted displacement by AI and automation.

Slide 4:
Hannah A. Patellis is a zinester and artist based in the City of Lakes, Minneapolis. She writes mostly about being a trans woman in America, mental health, chronic illness, her cats, and traveling. Part of the digitalist art movement, she often incorporates her visual art into her zines. Hannah is a lover of trinkets, not being idle, and lil adventures.

Slide 5:,
Pitymilk Press and Bathmatics are sister presses from MIlwaukee, WI and Detroit, MI respectively. They each focus on publishing poetry, micro-fictions and essays in small, handmade chapbook formats. Their catalogs lean heavily on q***r and femme voices producing work that is direct and demanding.

MP&R Vendor Highlights
Slide 1 :
Autonomous Community Action Basics (ACAB) Underground School is an all-volunteer art and political education collective based in Teejop (aka Madison, WI). We are around 20 friends working to empower our community to take action through effective organizing. In addition to hosting Know Your Rights and organizing trainings, we make and distribute screen printed apparel, bags, posters, and more, as well as buttons and zines. The money we raise is sent to community groups or non-profits that serve people in the Midwest and advance liberation for all.

Slide 2:
ZINEmercado is an annual roving zine fest based in Chicago. When exhibiting at other festivals we share zines, prints and other work by artists from around the US and the globe focusing on art, photography, graffiti and social causes.

Slide 3:
Riley Wright, also known as Line Over Matter, is a zine artist and screen printer who melds observations, creative writings, and sometimes poetry with illustration and portraiture. Riley is based in the Twin Cities and finds her inspiration in everyday people, places, and things and the qualities that make them beautiful. Her work is whimsical, sometimes joyful, sometimes gothic, but you will always find a hint of sweetness in a Line Over Matter original zine or illustration.

With the repurposing spirit of their namesake bird, Magpie Zines are a celebration of tarot, lyricism, and found arts, encouraging readers to uncover strangeness, wonder, and beauty in the mundane.

I use zines to make short format comics, telling stories about science, le****ns, community, and the skills I've learned! I love making science approachable by mixing it with a fun comic format and humor. All of my prints are handmade utilizing linocut or risograph techniques.

Podge is a q***r trans artist who explores their identity, gender, and sexuality through various materials and processes (like a true ADHD-er.) Their love of bold lines and strong color combinations lends itself to linocutting, screen-printing, and stained glass.

Classic DIY is run by Iassic / Moss. Moss is a q***r / trans, disabled, autistic artist and advocate. Their zines are about their personal experiences being autistic and disabled as well as educational zines about pronouns, disability, q***r / trans rights, BIPOC revolutionaries, and history about current humanitarian crisis.

My comics name is Citizen Christensen, I am a multimedia artist who specializes in story-telling. I like to root what I do in community engagement. My work often includes real-life interviews or conversations I had to raise funds for partners like the National Harm Reduction Coalition, the Coalition for Immigrant & Refugee Rights, and the Amphibian Surival Alliance. In my comics, I explore shared human experiences drawing inspiration from utility poles, oatmeal, politics, and my pet frog gibby.

I’m a multimedia artist interested in trauma, healing, and inner child work. I make comics about found family that ask questions about what it really takes to love and care for ourselves and each other. I believe everyone is an artist and I hope my work can inspire others in their own creative endeavors. It’s never too late to pick up a pen and draw. Why not try it?
