**SPOTLIGHT** Hara is years old and in 1st grade. She come to dance group at MYArts from Northport Community center. This past year, Hara has showed up weekly with enthusiasm to dance and move her body. This year she's blossomed as a creator and is excited to see all the ways she can make new movements that highlight how she feels. Hara loves dance because "it feels good to dance and it helps when I'm angry or when I'm sad or in a mood to help me feel happy again. It makes me happy and calm and it's fun! I like to do the dance that we made and I also like that I'm here and present."

Performing Ourselves has been in full swing this 2021-2022 year. We run 3 weekly classes at the MYArts center with Lapham Elementary School, Packers Community Center, and Northport Community Center; 1 weekly class at Lussier Community Education Center; and 2 8-week programs at Lowell Elementary School. This past winter we hosted an informal showing in the MYArts Blackbox Theater for the kiddos to experience what I performance feels like in a theater space. We will have a bigger showing in early June to show parents and the community the amazing progress and creations the movers have developed throughout programming!

Dwayne The Rock Johnson 🤝 chicken nuggets

Some MMSD might argue this would be a pretty smart combo for Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson! Thank you to everyone who joined us for our first community Whoopensocker show in over two years.

Missed tonight’s performance? Don’t worry there are still two more chances to join the fun at Madison Youth Arts Center. Tickets are available at go.wisc.edu/whoopensocker or in our bio.
