More Than a Conqueror, in partnership with the Meadowood Neighborhood Center, is helping collect toys for the annual Toys for Tots campaign — and we’re reaching out for community support.

Many families in our community are struggling to afford basic needs, and for some children, a donated toy may be the only gift they receive this year. Your support can make a huge difference.

We’re collecting:
✨ New, unwrapped toys for ages 0–14
✨ Highest need: gifts for ages 9–14
✨ Ideas: sports gear, board games, books, backpacks, hair tools, small electronics, and more

If rent, bills, or surprise expenses are keeping you up at night — this event is for you. Join us on Oct 31 (6–8pm) at Meadowood Neighborhood Center for a free, family-friendly workshop that teaches everyday money and housing skills to help families stay housed and build stability.

What you’ll get:

-Simple budgeting and emergency-saving tips you can use right away.
-Clear, plain-language credit basics and what matters for housing choices (renting or buying).
-The exact habits and documents renters should track now to protect housing stability.
-Discuss current housing challenges and receive insight and resources on how to navigate the challenges.
-Live, educational Q&A with local realtors and a loan officer (what to do now to be a great renter and prepare for homeownership)
-Supervised kids’ Halloween party, dinner, games, and candy bags will be provided.

Local realtors and a loan officer will answer questions in a strictly educational. Kids will enjoy a supervised Halloween costume party while parents learn. Dinner, candy bags, games, and resources will be provided. Space is limited & RSVP required.

Homeownership isn’t just about buying a house, it’s about being prepared for the long-term responsibilities that come with it. 🏡💡

Through our United Way-funded Circle of Life Balance initiative, we provide financial education, credit education, and homeownership readiness to empower BIPOC women with children to make informed decisions about their financial future. Our goal is to ensure families not only achieve homeownership but sustain it for the long term.

Here’s how we support families:
Financial Education: We help families understand the fundamentals of budgeting and managing their finances, using tools like Monarch Money and Visa’s Practical Money Program to enhance learning and implementation.

Credit Education: Our MyFICO partnership gives us access to all industry credit scores, including mortgage, car, and credit card scores—credit scores that lenders rely on, unlike the Advantage or other models seen on Credit Karma. This ensures clients are tracking the right data for their credit improvement.

Homeownership Readiness: We teach families how to prepare for homeownership—understanding taxes, escrow, mortgage payments, and the responsibilities of home upkeep.

Ongoing Support: Beyond just buying a home, we ensure families are equipped to manage the taxes, maintenance, and financial responsibilities that come with sustaining homeownership which differs from rental assistance that is offered to renters.

With the support of United Way, we are helping families not only position themselves to buy homes but also create financial stability and long-term wealth one family at a time. 🌍💙

We’re excited to announce that More Than a Conqueror has received a generous grant from United Way of Dane County for the 2025-2026 fiscal years, which officially kicked off in January!🎉

Circle of Life Balance is an initiative designed specifically for BIPOC women with children, funded through the United Way’s Women in Wealth grant. This initiative is part of United Way of Dane County’s vision to break the cycle of systemic poverty, systemic racism, and discrimination. This funding will support our mission to provide financial education, credit education, and homeownership readiness to families in our community all aimed at creating a future of economic empowerment and wealth-building for women of color and their families.

Our approach goes beyond just helping families purchase homes as we empower them to sustain stable housing, whether they want to own or rent, by building sustainable financial habits, including budgeting, savings, and credit management. We provide ongoing coaching and resources to ensure families don’t just reach their goals but are able to maintain them for years to come.

This past Friday at Amphora Apartments, what began as an Easter basket giveaway turned into a joyful celebration of community that was complete with music, laughter, and shared moments.

More Than a Conqueror was proud to contribute by hosting the Silent Headphone Party and providing games, snacks, and drinks to create a fun and welcoming space for families to enjoy. 🎧🧃🎲

We’re incredibly grateful for the amazing collaboration that made this event a success:

We need to fundamentally shift our approach to helping families achieve stability. While homeownership and entrepreneurship are worthy goals that every organization and government agency is pushing nowadays, pushing these objectives without first addressing basic survival needs is like trying to build a house without a foundation. Many families are just three difficult months away from homelessness - how can we discuss business ownership and homeownership when they’re struggling to maintain stable housing and employment?

What’s urgently needed is a focus on providing practical tools and resources for true self-sufficiency: reliable income, affordable quality housing, emergency savings, financial EDUCATION, and basic life skills. These fundamentals create the stable foundation that makes larger goals achievable. Without them, promoting homeownership or entrepreneurship becomes an empty exercise that doesn’t address the real, immediate risks many families face.

We must prioritize teaching and supporting sustainable living skills - budgeting, tenant rights, job retention, emergency planning - before advancing to longer-term wealth-building strategies. This isn’t about lowering aspirations; it’s about building a reliable ladder that people can actually climb. Yet here we are, staying quiet while people struggle endlessly to climb a broken system! A system that keeps promoting distant dreams while the rungs beneath their feet are crumbling.

I am honored and deeply grateful to announce my role as a mentor in the Green Bay Packers Foundation Mentor-Protege Program! This journey began when someone recognized my potential through my work on Mastering Momentum, a program I co-created and piloted in February 2024. The initial invitation and interview set me on a path that has fulfilled my heart and validated my purpose, proving that my universal skills not only meet the demands of the task but embody the quality, impact, and intention needed to make a difference.

A huge thank you to the Green Bay Packers Foundation for trusting in my vision to mentor a growing business—let’s manifest BIG things only! I’m also incredibly grateful for the amazing companies I’ll be collaborating with, whose belief in me, even after a brief five-minute conversation, has amplified my purpose and increased my ability to contribute to your growth alongside my mentee.

My work isn't about quick fixes or surface solutions. It's about sitting together through the storm, listening to untold stories, and building trust one conversation at a time!

From housing struggles to mental health battles, we tackle each challenge together. Because real change happens in the small moments - a shared laugh during difficult times, a breakthrough in therapy, finding a safe place to call home, or simply knowing someone truly cares.

I don't believe in just providing services. I pride myself on being willing and able to stand with families as they rediscover their strength, watching children's eyes light up with renewed hope, and celebrating every step forward, no matter how small.

To every family I've had the privilege to work with: your resilience inspires me. Your stories matter. Your healing matters. And together, we're proving that even in life's darkest moments, there's always a path forward.
