We have an opening! 🥳

Yahara Linden is a small independent co-op founded in 1973, located in the cute and tranquil Atwood neighborhood of Madison, Wisconsin. As a co-op we share chores and other house responsibilities, and take it upon ourselves as individuals and a group to make sure we have a smoothly functioning home where everyone feels safe and supported.
We have a weekly house dinner together on Sundays. The responsibility of cooking is rotated between all members, so you would be expected to cook every seven weeks. We purchase vegetarian food but those who wish to buy/cook meat on their own are welcome to do so. We also value sustainability and have a communal garden.
There are currently 7 adults, a toddler, a cat, and an older dog living at Yahara Linden. The most senior of us has lived here 8 years; the most junior has lived here a little over a year. Our hobbies include entertaining a toddler, high-lining, juggling, running, ecstatic dance, long walks to various parks around town, gardening, circus arts, foraging, biking, board games, acroyoga, sharing weekend pancakes, handstands, and bookclubs.
The membershipping process involves filling out a questionnaire, having 3 meals with the house, and then a house vote to make a membership decision. If you are interested or know someone who is, please email us at [email protected]!
