An out-of-this-world event is landing in Madison on Monday, August 31! Help us welcome NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration and the Artemis II astronauts to Toyota Field for a presentation of their mission highlights and an interactive Q&A with Artemis II crew members! Gates open at 5 PM, with the presentation starting at 6:30 PM.

Sometimes kindness begins with simply **paying attention**.

We were approached with what seemed like a simple request: help get a young boy’s glasses fixed.

But we listened. We observed. We asked questions. And we discovered that broken glasses weren’t the family’s biggest challenge.

**They were homeless.**

At that moment, our service became about more than repairing a pair of glasses. We reached out to community organizations and connected the family with people and resources that could help address the much bigger challenges they were facing.

Yes, a young boy needed to see clearly.

But a family also needed a chance to **breathe**.

That’s why kindness matters. And that’s why listening and observation are such important parts of service. Sometimes the need someone asks you to help with is only the need they can put into words.

**Look closer. Listen longer. Ask one more question.**

You may discover an opportunity to do far more than solve a problem—you may help give someone hope.

We held our first club meeting for the FY! We had a good time. Met a new friend. Rewarded our prior officers! Recognized our critical member Susan Parsons who manages our youth referrals program to get exams and glasses. Recognized our members who have been in 5 years - charter members as our club just turned 5 this year! Here's to the next 5!
