Black Men Coalition Of Dane County is led by black men who have overcome the school-to-prison pipeline and other systemic barriers and are developing opportunities for others to also find success. The organization is changing lives through life-changing experiences.
While 78% of program participants have been Black men ages 16 to 55, the organizationās mission is to serve anyone who needs them. āWe are open to everyone ā all genders and all races ā and are committed to serving everyone in our community who needs that lift up,ā shares Corey Marionneaux, President/Founder and Chief Executive Officer. āThose who are unemployed, under employed, formerly incarcerated, anyone in this community who needs our services, we are there to help support them to find success.ā
Their programs provide individuals with the tools and support to achieve self-sufficiency and a better quality of life, combining employment, transportation and supportive housing services. They also offer opportunities for financial literacy education and personal growth including the only free youth baseball program in the country where more than 250 players and 16 teams participate. In 2024, they started offering professional development through eCornell, Cornell Universityās online learning platform.
Not only is UW Health proud to support the Black Men Coalition Foundation, we also appreciate their services, having hired the Foundation to provide shuttle services for UW Health employees to get from off-site parking locations to University Hospital. In honor of Black History Month, we celebrate this pioneering organization.
