As our community continue for answers during these very challenging/heartbreaking times. 🙏🏾

🎓 Congratulations to our third graduating cohort at Dane County Jail!

Yesterday in Madison, we celebrated a group of intelligent, motivated young men who put in the work and finished strong. They’re walking out with more tools, more confidence, and a clearer path as they return to our community.

The Blackman Coalition Foundation is proud to collaborate with eCornell / Cornell University (Ithaca, NY) to bring this opportunity inside the walls at DCJ. Education changes what’s possible and these brothers proved it.

Three cohorts down. We’re just getting started.

To our graduates: This community is rooting for you. 👏

Thank you to our amazing team at BMC.

⚾ CHAMPIONSHIP SATURDAY!

Join us tomorrow at the Elver Park baseball diamonds as our BMC Youth Baseball athletes take the field for the Championship Game!

These young athletes have spent the entire summer learning, growing, competing, and building confidence both on and off the field. Now it’s time to celebrate everything they’ve accomplished.

We invite our families, friends, neighbors, and the entire community to come out and fill the stands. Your presence matters more than you know. When our young people look into the crowd and see their community cheering them on, they know they are valued, supported, and seen.

Let’s show our youth that their hard work matters.

📍 Elver Park Baseball Diamonds
📅 Saturday
⏰ Games begin at 10:00 AM and continue throughout the day until approximately 4:00 PM

🕊️

Today our community is grieving. A Black man lost his life on Williamson Street after being shot by a Madison police officer this afternoon. Many of us have now seen the video. What we witnessed will stay with us and it demands answers.

To his family: we see you, we mourn with you, and we hold you close tonight. Corey Ruiz was somebody’s son, and he mattered.

This happened steps from where Tony Robinson was killed in 2015. Our community carries that memory, and it will not let us look away.

We are calling for a full, transparent, and independent investigation and for the footage and the truth to be examined completely and honestly. We ask that justice be served.

Tonight, we ask you to come together in prayer. Pray for this family. Pray for peace in our streets. Pray that justice is done. Let us stand strong, steady, and united. 🙏🏾

We could use your financial support if you believe in the work we do.

It is with a heavy heart that I share the passing of our beloved Anita “NeNe” Howard, who left us on June 15, 2026.
NeNe had a heart as big as they come, and she gave it freely to this community. If you needed something, she found a way to make it happen. If you were going through something, she showed up, every single time! She was resourceful, dependable, and always there for others before herself. She also had perfect attendance when she was with us.
And that voice of hers… Loud, warm, and impossible to miss it could fill a whole room and make you feel right at home. You always knew when NeNe was around.
She touched more lives than she could ever know, and the love she poured into all of us will live on. Rest well, you will be deeply missed.
