We are truly honored to receive the Governor’s Financial Literacy Award for 2025.

On behalf of the Black Men Coalition Foundation, Inc. (BMC), we extend our deepest gratitude to Governor Tony Evers, The First Lady of Wi. Kathy Evers & The Governor’s Council on Financial Literacy and Capability for this recognition. This award represents years of dedication, growth, and commitment to advancing financial literacy, capability, and inclusion in our communities.

We want to sincerely thank our partners… Summit Credit Union, Old National Bank, BMO and the Dane County Sheriff’s Department for believing in our mission and continuing to stand alongside us as we create pathways for education, opportunity, and second chances.

To our incredible staff, thank you for the passion and consistency you bring every single day. A special acknowledgment to Ian Carter for your leadership and commitment to this work.

A heartfelt thank you to Mary Breunig for submitting the nomination. After multiple years of this journey, it was a blessing to finally meet you in person today. Your support means more than words can express.

This recognition belongs to every individual we serve and every life impacted through this work. We don’t take that responsibility lightly and we’re just getting started.

We are so appreciative of this relationship, This partnership has brought stability and changed many lives. UW staff is amazing and has been nothing less than the best. Thank you for celebrating us and the kind words. šŸ«¶šŸ½

Black Men Coalition Of Dane County is led by black men who have overcome the school-to-prison pipeline and other systemic barriers and are developing opportunities for others to also find success. The organization is changing lives through life-changing experiences.

While 78% of program participants have been Black men ages 16 to 55, the organization’s mission is to serve anyone who needs them. ā€œWe are open to everyone – all genders and all races – and are committed to serving everyone in our community who needs that lift up,ā€ shares Corey Marionneaux, President/Founder and Chief Executive Officer. ā€œThose who are unemployed, under employed, formerly incarcerated, anyone in this community who needs our services, we are there to help support them to find success.ā€

Their programs provide individuals with the tools and support to achieve self-sufficiency and a better quality of life, combining employment, transportation and supportive housing services. They also offer opportunities for financial literacy education and personal growth including the only free youth baseball program in the country where more than 250 players and 16 teams participate. In 2024, they started offering professional development through eCornell, Cornell University’s online learning platform.

Not only is UW Health proud to support the Black Men Coalition Foundation, we also appreciate their services, having hired the Foundation to provide shuttle services for UW Health employees to get from off-site parking locations to University Hospital. In honor of Black History Month, we celebrate this pioneering organization.

The Black Men Coalition is proud to celebrate a remarkable group of individuals at Dane County Jail who have successfully graduated from the eCornell program, earning certificates while incarcerated. This achievement speaks volumes about their determination to rise above their circumstances and invest in a better future.

Through our collaboration with the Dane County Sheriff’s Office and Cornell University, we’ve been able to bring opportunity, education, and hope inside the walls where it’s needed most. This is what transformation looks like.

To every graduate: we see you, we honor you, and we celebrate you. Your commitment to growth is inspiring, and this is only the beginning.

A heartfelt thank you to our dedicated staff, partners, and everyone who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make this possible. It takes a village to create change and together, we are doing just that.

⚾ Step Up to the Plate!

Our Youth Baseball Program is gearing up for the 2026 season, and we’re looking for amazing people in our community to help make it unforgettable for our kiddos! We’re currently in need of coaches, assistant coaches, team parents, and volunteers who are passionate about mentoring youth and creating a positive environment on and off the field.

No matter your experience level, your time, encouragement, and leadership can make a lasting impact. This program is about more than baseball — it’s about building confidence, teamwork, discipline, and strong role models for our youth.

Strengthening the Foundation of a Nonprofit

Running a nonprofit is not just about passion — it’s about building something strong enough to last.

A strong nonprofit foundation is built on mission, structure, and trust. When those things are aligned, the impact can reach generations.

Strengthening a nonprofit means:

• Re-committing to the mission and purpose
• Building systems that support the work, not just relying on hustle
• Developing leaders within the organization
• Creating strong partnerships in the community
• Ensuring financial sustainability
• Listening to the people we serve

Growth doesn’t happen by accident. It happens when leaders are willing to step back, strengthen the structure, and allow others to help carry the mission forward.

At the end of the day, the goal isn’t just to run programs — the goal is to build an institution that outlives us and continues to serve the community long after we’re gone.

That’s what a strong nonprofit foundation looks like.

Thank you to everyone who has donated and supported Black Men Coalition Foundation during our first year participating in the CSW Big Share! šŸ’š

Your generosity helps us continue expanding programs that provide housing support, employment opportunities, transportation access, financial literacy education, professional development, and youth programs across our community.

There’s still one more exciting opportunity left: the organization that receives the very last donation at 11:59:59 PM on March 5th will win the $750 Last Donation Prize!

If that final donation goes to BMCF, it means even more resources to support the individuals and families we serve.

If you haven’t had a chance to donate yet, there’s still time to make your gift count.

Donate before 11:59:59 PM on March 5th and help us finish Big Share strong!

Financial knowledge creates opportunity, stability, and freedom.

Through the Black Men Coalition Financial Literacy Program, individuals gain the skills they need to build stronger financial futures—learning how to budget, save, plan, and achieve long-term success.

Our evidence-based, hands-on classes are offered both in the community and inside the Dane County Jail, helping people build financial confidence while reducing barriers that can lead to recidivism.

Your support helps us continue providing these life-changing resources.

🚐 Transportation should never be the reason someone can’t get to work.

Through the BMCF Transportation Program, we help remove barriers to employment by providing:

• Passenger van rides running 3 shifts a day, 7 days a week
• Bus passes through the FSET program
• Gas cards and ride support for qualifying workers

Access to transportation means access to income, stability, and opportunity.

Your donation helps keep our community moving forward.
