Friends of Amherst County is a organization of interested community citizens who meet together to do good in the community. Any men and women who are interested in
service to the community and who band together for a weekly program and fellowship. Friends of Amherst County is also open to retired persons who have the desire to get involved in their community. WHAT DISTINGUISHES FOAC FROM OTHER CL
UBS? Each member is recognized as an individual who can contribute to the ideas of Friends of Amherst County. WHAT WILL FRIENDS OF AMHERST COUNTY DO? A major part of Friends of Amherst County is fellowship but chooses projects in which it becomes involved. Projects are primarily to serve the community needs. HOW IS THE CLUB GOVERNED? Members elect a President, a Treasurer, Chaplain and Program Director. WHAT DOES THE CLUB DO WITH THE MONEY IT RAISES? The club members, appropriates funds for donations to community and other worthy causes. Support for activities of youth are a priority in the club. Included are donations of materials to elementary schools. WHAT DOES IT COST TO BE A MEMBER OF FRIENDS OF AMHERST COUNTY ? Every member is responsible for the cost of the weekly meal. There are NO dues. Members do Happy Dollars which helps to make the treasure funds grow. DOES FOAC HAVE ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS? There are NO attendance requirements. Individuals are encouraged to attend regularly to keep abreast of activities going on in the organization. IS THIS CLUB CONNECTED WITH OTHER CLUBS? The Friends of Amherst County is an independent organization and is not connected with any other organization. The FOAC does encourage members to attend other organizational meetings such as Amherst Chamber of Commerce, Job Corps, and United Way. For More Information
