Thought for today...

”Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer.

From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.

For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy.” (Psalm 61:1-3)

When King David wrote this, he was plumb tuckered out and pushed to his absolute limit. He didn't put on a brave face or pretend he had it all together. He just looked up and told God, "My heart is faint."

Ain't it comforting to know we can do the exact same thing? When anxiety and trouble come at us like a summer storm, we don't have to white-knuckle our way through it. David asked God to lead him to "the rock that is higher than I."

See, when we are stuck down in the weeds, we can't see the way out. But God can. He is our refuge and our strong tower. Think of Him like a sturdy storm shelter during a tornado—completely safe, unshakable, and blocking out the wind.

Next time you feel overwhelmed, just stop, take a breath, and let the Lord lead you to higher ground. He’s already done it for you before, and He will surely do it again.

Have a blessed day!

Thought for today...

Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is (Ephesians 5:16-17).

Our days slip by quicker than grease on a hot griddle. If we aren't paying attention, the world will steal our peace, our focus, and our hours with pure foolishness.

Paul tells us to "redeem the time," which means we need to reclaim our minutes from all the distractions around us.

God didn't give us this life to spend it idling on a porch or worrying ourselves sick. He gave us today to love people, serve Him, and do some good.

We need to put down the phones, and start building a relationship with God.

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you (Matthew 6:33).

If we start our day with Him then we can praise Him and ask Him for His help throughout the day. We also grow in our relationship with Him and learn to become more like Him. If we put God first we will have time for all the other things we want to do.

Don't let the world run out your clock; give it to God instead

Have a blessed day!

Thought for today...

Jesus said "Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.

Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.

And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly." ~ Matthew 6:1-6 (KJV)

All you do, do it for the glory of God!

Thought for today…

Have you been discouraged? Discouragement can stem from ingratitude—and it leaves you vulnerable to oppression and attacks in other areas.

You see the Devil has abundance of discouragement seeds. If he can sow discouragement into your life, then he can get almost anything else he wants to into your life.

The way to overcome discouragement is to have a heart of gratitude. The Bible says… “In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” ~ I Thessalonians 5:18 (KJV)

Thought for today…

Do you find yourself in the midst of evil? Remember in God’s hands the intended evil becomes eventual good.

In the book of Genesis Joseph found himself in a whirlwind of evil. When all was said and done he tells his brothers “But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.” ~ Genesis 50:20 (KJV).

In every situation God is working all things for your good and His Glory!

Romans 8:28 (KJV) “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose."

Never, Never Give Up!!

Thought for today...

How many of us have said this ...If only I were out of school. If only I was 21. If only I had that job. If only I were married. If only I could retire. If only . . . And one day we wake up and wonder where has time gone.

Reality...our life is only a v***r that appears for little while and then it's gone (James 4:14).

We should never get so wrapped up with the things of this world that we lose focus on the ones we love. And most important where we will spend eternity.

Jesus said..."For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?" So invite Christ into your heart today and redeem the time you have remaining here on earth.

Have a blessed day!

Thought for today...

“ There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” (Proverbs 14:12)

This verse gives us a stern warning about trusting our own human compass. The heart is easily deceived, and sometimes those shortcuts that seem so appealing are actually dead ends or dangerous drop-offs. Just because a crowd is walking down a path or because the road looks smooth doesn't mean it's the highway the Lord intended for you to take.

When we rely on our own worldly reasoning, we can easily wander off course. True wisdom isn't about following your own heart; it's about checking your road map—the Word of God—and making sure your steps line up with His teachings.

Jesus said that He is the Way the Truth and Life (John 14:6), not one of the ways or the best way, He’s the “Only Way” to Heaven.

Thought for today...

“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”- Romans 8:28

Now, look close: this verse doesn't say every single thing that happens to us is good. Sin, pain, and heartbreak are flat-out rotten. But it promises that God is so powerful, He can take every bit of that mess and blend it into something wonderful for His glory and your growth. He doesn't waste a single tear, and He is always working behind the scenes. When you can’t trace His hand, you can always trust His heart.

What heavy burden do you need to hand over to the Lord today?

Have a blessed day!

Thought for today...

Are you prepared to serve Christ, no matter the cost??

In the Bible we read... They were 1,500 miles from home. Who would know? Who would care?

But they knew God was watching, and as young men they dedicated and committed themselves totally to God.

These young men were Meshach, Shadrach and Abednego. They refused to break God’s law are to bow down before King Nebuchadnezzar who had had become powerful and egotistical (Daniel chapter 3).

We have to choose. That is a choice that each one of us has to make—a choice of either bowing down to the things of this world, which are evil and wrong, or bowing down before the true and the living God.

Satan calls upon people to bow down to pride, lust and many other things.

Money is something that Satan wants us to bow down to. Greed goes all the way through our society. Greed is an idol.

Success is another. The image overlaid with gold, flashing in the sun, is the image erected to success and human glory: “The great golden image which I built,” Nebuchadnezzar said (Cf. Daniel 3:14). He didn’t give God any credit at all. He said, “I built it.” And some of us say that, too: “Look what I’ve done.” “I have built this business.” “I am a self-made man.” “I built this ranch.” “I did this.” “I did that.”

Nebuchadnezzar could destroy the body, but he could not destroy the soul. We have a body, but living inside us is our soul, our spirit. That is the part of us that will live forever. Jesus warned, “Fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell” (Matthew 10:28).

Just like Meshach, Shadrach and Abednego we must follow Christ no matter the cost.

Have a blessed day!
