red away from the world. They would be built within a community and were intended to be a light in the darkness, living among the people they sought to serve. The Cuirim House is intended to blend with the existing structures in the community we serve. There is no air conditioning in the summer or heat in the winter. There is no hot water heater. The floors are cement and the roof is tin. Dust from the street sneaks into each room. By sharing these living conditions with our neighbors, we can begin to understand their daily struggles and open our hearts to their needs. We want to model how Jesus Christ lived, sharing in our infirmities and struggles and pointing the way to living daily in the reality of the Kingdom of God.
