GFWC Madison Heights Women’s Club is Living the Volunteer Spirit! Visit us here regularly to see what we're up to or come see what the buzz is about at a meeting or event. GFWC MHWC is pleased to have 72 members from 18 communities, 8 of whom have been charter members since we began in 1977. We will celebrate our 45th anniversary in the Fall of 2022. We must be doing something right for so many wo
men to continue their involvement. Our President is Karen Barnes and her motto is "Be generous with your time, talent, words, and deeds" and her icon is a honey bee. Our other officers are Robin Wojta, 1st Vice President; Nancy Luce, 2nd Vice President; Jill Gold, Recording Secretary; Sammy Swanson, Corresponding Secretary; Allison Dutton, Treasurer; Laurie Geralds, Past President; and Roslyn Yerman, Communications Liaison. We are the only GFWC affiliated women's club in Madison Heights. Our meetings are at 6:30 pm on the third Monday of the month at Madison Heights Active Adult Center, 29448 John R. Residency in Madison Heights is not required, and guests are always welcome. The club is non-denominational and open to women of all faiths. Activities and projects are conducted from a non-partisan, non-political standpoint at all times. GFWC MHWC actively supports and promotes community activities and organizations and General Federation of Women’s Club (GFWC) state and national initiatives. We are federated with the GFWC Southeastern District, GFWC Michigan, GFWC Great Lakes Region and GFWC International. The General Federation of Women's Clubs is one of the oldest and largest women's service organizations dedicated to community improvement through volunteer service.
