Valley Children's Hospital Adaptive Sports Valley Children's Hospital Adaptive Sports provides team sport and recreation activities for people with physical disabilities and impairments.

Valley Children’s Adaptive Sports Program provides recreational and athletic experiences for those with disabilities. Open to all ages, the free program is the only one of its kind in the Central Valley. It’s designed for individuals with physical and health impairments and conditions ranging from cerebral palsy to spinal cord injuries. Through hard work and determination, participants learn that it’s possible for them, too, to take part in athletic activities, exceed expectations and achieve their dreams.

🏀 Spokane Showdown 2026 | Day 2 Recap

Yesterday, our Fresno Wheelers hit the court for their first games of the 2026–2027 season!

While we didn’t quite get the results we were hoping for, our coaches were really encouraged by the effort, determination, and heart this team showed. For our first games of the season, there was a lot to be proud of, and we’re just getting started!

We ended the night with a great meal together as a team, making more memories both on and off the court.

Today, we’re back at it for our final two games of the tournament, hoping to finish on a high note!

🏀✈️ SPOKANE SHOWDOWN 2026 | DAY 1 RECAP

New season, first tournament, and we’re officially on the road! 🙌

The Fresno Wheelers kicked off our 2026–2027 basketball season with a bright and early 4 AM airport arrival! From catching some incredible views from the sky (did you spot Valley Children’s Stadium? 😉) to making our way through Seattle and into Spokane, it was a full day of travel, fun, and team bonding!

We enjoyed a great meal, squeezed in some swimming, celebrated our guy Luke’s birthday 🎉, and made some great memories before the competition begins!

Now it’s time to rest up because tomorrow we hit the court for our first games of the season! 🏀

🌊One more day on the lake to close out an amazing summer!

Our second water skiing clinic brought another beautiful day at the lake with our Adaptive Sports athletes and families. From big smiles and exciting rides to relaxing by the water together, it was the perfect way to wrap up a summer full of adventure. ☀️

Days like this are made possible by an incredible community. Thank you to our volunteers, families, lake hosts, and everyone who shared their time and resources to help make our water skiing season such a memorable one.

As summer break comes to an end, we’re wishing all of our athletes a fun, successful, and exciting school year! 📚✏️ Keep learning, growing, and showing everyone what you can do. 💪

✨BASKETBALL IS BACK!✨

We kicked off our basketball season Saturday with our first wheelchair basketball clinic! It was great seeing new faces alongside players from our Fresno Wheelers competitive team, all sharing the court and getting some work in.

A huge thank you to our coaches who continue to volunteer their time, knowledge, and energy to make this program what it is. 🩵

Some moments are bigger than reaching the top. ✨🧗

For many of our athletes, this was their very first time rock climbing. For some families, it was an experience they never imagined would be possible.

And then they climbed. 🥹

That’s what makes days like this so special. Our mission is to create opportunities, remove barriers, and give our athletes the chance to try something new, challenge themselves, and experience moments that once may have felt out of reach.

Because “I don’t know if I can” can turn into “I did it.”

A huge thank you to our incredible volunteers who helped make every climb possible, celebrated every victory, and cheered our athletes on every step of the way.
