My Beloved Brethren,

I would like to share a sermon I preached for a men’s discipleship group in Porterville on Veteran’s Day, 2011. It is called “Man Alive” (That was the name of the conference). It is recorded on two links. Just click on them one at a time and I pray this will be a blessing to you, Pastor Marc

THE TENTH COMMANDMENT, Ex 20:17, March 22, 2020

“You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife or his male servant or his female servant or his ox or his donkey or anything that belongs to your neighbor.” (Ex 20:17).

Hebrew: “covet, lust after…an inordinate, ungoverned, selfish desire.”
Greek: “to long for, to covet, to lust after.”
Are you content with what you have or, do you wish you had the “stuff” the other person has? Do you always have to have bigger, better, faster, prettier, younger, MORE?
If people are satisfied with what they have, why would God write the 10th Commandment?
What does the Bible say about coveting (I Tim 6:8-10; Heb 13:5)?

THE NINTH COMMANDMENT
Exodus 20:15, March 15, 2020
“You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor” (Exodus 20:16).

Have you ever falsified a spoken report?
Deliberately answered inaccurately?
Deliberately withheld some of the truth?
Rephrased the truth?
Shaded the truth? Played dumb?
Have you ever said something untrue about someone?
Have you ever repeated something about someone that you suspected was not true?
What is it called when you bear false witness in court?
Is perjury a serious infraction of the law? Is it punishable?
Is a false witness breaking God’s law? Is it punishable?
Is bearing false witness a sin?
How serious does God say this sin is (Rev 21:8)?

Come to our 11 AM worship service this Sunday and find out!
