Last night at the Rebel Wrestling Banquet, the Clifton Thomas Pride in Excellence Award was presented by the coaches to a student-athlete who truly embodies the spirit and character of our son, Clifton.

This award recognizes a wrestler who demonstrates dedication, drive, and devotion to the team — qualities that Clifton lived by every day both on and off the mat.

We are proud to share that the 2025 Clifton Thomas Pride in Excellence Award was awarded to Johnny Frazier.

Chosen by the coaching staff, Johnny exemplifies the values of hard work, leadership, and sportsmanship that made Clifton so special. We are honored to see Clifton’s legacy carried forward by such outstanding young athletes.

Thank you to the Hollins High coaches, athletes, and families who continue to support us in keeping Clifton’s memory alive. 💙

Last night, we had the honor of presenting The Liftin Clifton Lives Memorial Scholarship at the Rebel Wrestling Banquet at Hollins High School — Clifton’s alma mater.

Returning to the place that helped shape who Clifton was and being surrounded by the coaches who meant so much to him, was deeply emotional and meaningful. This scholarship was created to honor the values Clifton lived by: dedication, resilience, humility, sportsmanship, and heart.

We’re proud to announce that the 2025 Liftin Clifton Lives Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Ethan Nadeau, a graduating wrestler whose quiet leadership, strong work ethic, and integrity stood out to the coaching staff — the same coaches who helped guide Clifton. Ethan was selected because he reflects the same spirit and values this scholarship was created to celebrate.

Not a day goes by that we don’t miss Clifton with all our hearts. The pain of his absence is something we carry with us every single day. Life without him is hard — unbelievably hard — but honoring his memory and lifting others in his name gives us purpose and a way to keep his light shining.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support our mission and helps us keep Clifton’s memory alive. His light continues to shine through every life lifted in his name. 💙

Rebel Wrestling Club, Inc. had their annual Wrestling Banquet and we were honored to present this years “Liftin Clifton Memorial Scholarship” to Senior Wrestler Brendan Walsh. He was also awarded the “Clifton Thomas Pride and Excellence Award”.

This is the second year these two awards have been given. The Liftin Clifton Memorial Scholarship Fund is awarded to a deserving senior, who is moving on to further education. The Clifton Thomas Pride in excellence award, is chosen by the coaches, for a student who exhibits the qualities of who Clifton was, sportsmanship being the #1 quality.

As we sat thru the award banquet I was struck thinking it has been 8 years since Clifton graduated High School and we are in our 3rd year of not having him with us. It all seems like yesterday.

Life will never be the same, our heart have been changed with the loss of Clifton ….. but knowing that we can make a difference for one of his people …. Brings joy to our hearts.

January 29 this week was the 2nd anniversary marking the loss of our youngest son Clifton to an unintentional overdose of fentanyl. It has been a tough two years.

In honor of Clifton and all he embodied we established The Liftin Clifton Memorial Scholarship Fund (an established 501(3)c non-profit) to give back in his name to a deserving graduating wrestler from his High School alma mater Dixie Hollins High School, St Petersburg, FL now know as Hollins High School. The wrestling coaches and team are family they made a huge impact on all our lives most especially Clifton’s. Clifton’s drive for sportsmanship and life were multiplied by the Dixie family.

We were able to award the first Scholarship last year and are looking forward to awarding again this school year to a deserving Senior. Thank you for all who have supported us thru donations and your love. We appreciate you.

Although life for Clifton’s family will never be the same, we will make a difference in as many lives as we can following the criteria that Clifton worked so hard to achieve.

For anyone that ever had the chance to meet Clifton, in the words of his friends and family, he was passionate, positive, loved lifting, wrestling, bright, genuine, inspiring, always smiling, a beautiful soul, unrivaled sportsmanship, and caring.

We would like to thank everyone here on facebook and outside that donated to help The Dixie "Hollins High" Wrestling team go to camp this summer, Rebel Wrestling Club, Inc. went to camp this week. Shout out to Ann Francis Sheets with Wrestle For Life Foundation, David Hitterman and many others that helped the Wrestlers this year. We are looking forward to sharing the team and the season coming. Thank you again.

Hollins High Schol wrestling team has a number of young men that need some financial assistance in going to wrestling camp this summer. The Liftin Clifton Memorial Scholarship Fund will donate 100% of all proceeds from this fundraiser to send as many of these wrestlers to camp. The camp this summer is "Florida Pride Wrestling Camp". January 29th marked our 1 year without Clifton. Words cannot express the loss we all continue to feel everyday. We established The Liftin Clifton Memorial Scholarship Fund as our way of keeping Clifton and his memory alive for eternity thru a scholarship that will benefit a graduating high school wrestler that exhibits traits that speak to who Clifton was, Humble, Dedicated, with Great Sportsmanship just name a few.

We wanted to take a moment and say thank you to all of you that have donated to the The Liftin Clifton Memorial Scholarship Fund and look forward to sharing with you this years recipient when chosen.
