On Saturday 8-22-26, members of the Special Operations Radio Team (SORT) conducted a successful Boston Butt Sale fundraiser at S & L Sausage Company in Macon, Georgia.
The event was a tremendous success, and we would like to extend our sincere appreciation to the staff of S & L Sausage Company for partnering with us and supporting our organization.
We also want to thank everyone who came out and purchased a Boston Butt. Your continued support helps make our mission and events possible.

On August 15, 2026, members of the Special Operations Radio Team (SORT) participated in the 3rd Annual City Fun Day, sponsored by the City of Forsyth, Georgia.

Representing SORT at the event were CEO Wolverton, Commander Stewart, Major Coyner, Captain Baker, Lieutenant Lively, CFO Landers, and BOG Landers.

SORT greatly appreciates the City of Forsyth for the opportunity to participate in this community event. Events such as City Fun Day provide an excellent opportunity for SORT members to engage with the community, build relationships, and network with other public safety partners.

We are proud to support the City of Forsyth and look forward to continuing our involvement in community and public safety events throughout the region.

July 25, 2026 – Members of the Special Operations Radio Team (SORT) successfully conducted our third and final fundraiser of the season. We extend our sincere appreciation to everyone who came out to support our organization throughout this year's fundraising efforts. Your generosity and commitment play a vital role in helping us continue our mission of serving public safety and rural communities.

A special thank you goes to Commander Rusty Stewart for his outstanding leadership and logistical coordination in making this event a success. His dedication and hard work were instrumental in ensuring everything ran smoothly.

This evening's theme was Veterans Night and Pirates Night, creating a fun and memorable atmosphere for everyone in attendance. One of the highlights of the evening was a spectacular flyover by a U.S. Air Force C-130 Hercules, which was an impressive tribute to our nation's veterans and an unforgettable experience for all who witnessed it.

Thank you again to everyone who participated and supported SORT. We look forward to seeing you at our upcoming events as we continue working together to strengthen our organization and serve our communities.

SORT Announces 2nd Annual Boston Butt Fundraiser to Support Emergency Communications and Disaster Response

MACON, Ga. – The Special Operations Radio Team (SORT) is excited to announce its 2nd Annual Boston Butt Fundraiser, benefiting the organization's nonprofit mission of providing emergency communications, disaster response support, and community service throughout Middle Georgia and beyond.

The fundraiser will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at 5615 Zebulon Road, Macon, GA 31210.

For $35.00, supporters will receive a premium smoked Half Boston Butt that is fully cooked and ready to serve. Every purchase helps fund the equipment, training, and operational readiness needed for SORT volunteers to respond during emergencies, severe weather events, public safety operations, and community events.

Following the success of last year's fundraiser, SORT is proud to bring the event back for a second year with the continued support of the community.

"Our supporters make it possible for us to continue serving our communities when they need us most," said Russell Stewart, with the Special Operations Radio Team. "We appreciate everyone who has supported us in the past and invite the community to join us again for our 2nd Annual Boston Butt Fundraiser."
