Thank you to the incredibly talented Timothy White for capturing such a special moment at the Big “O” Ranch.

In honor of World Teachers’ Day, we’re looking back at a collaboration rooted in one simple message: RESPECT. 🎶💙

Together with Google, Sony Music Publishing, and producer Swagg R’Celious, our ORCAstrators and young artists helped reimagine Otis Redding’s iconic song as a tribute to educators everywhere.

To the teachers who inspire creativity, confidence, and possibility every day… this one’s for you!

Throwing it back to this powerful partnership for World Teachers’ Day!🎶

In 2024, the Otis Redding Foundation joined Google, Sony Music Publishing, and producer Swagg R’Celious to create a new recording of Otis Redding’s “Respect” honoring teachers around the world.

We’re so grateful for educators everywhere- and for the power of music and arts education to inspire the next generation. 💙

“It’s been nearly 60 years since Otis Redding’s death. But the conversations Karla has with locals in Macon are a frequent reminder that her father lives on in the memories of those who knew him. ‘I walk these streets all day, and every day somebody has a story,’ Karla says. ‘Every single day.’”
