The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, Macon Bibb County, and River Edge Behavioral Health invite the Central Georgia community to an Open House Ceremony and Tour for the Tiny Cottages of Macon, which will house individuals who have experienced homelessness and have a mental health or substance use disorder disability, on Friday, June 21, 2024, at 723 Norris Street, Macon, Georgia 31217.
The ceremony will celebrate the completion of the ten tiny homes and will kick off at 10:00 AM, followed by a ribbon cutting and a housing tour. We hope to see you there!

We were honored to hear one of River Edge Behavioral Health's (REBH) own Substance Abuse Counselors share about her own journey to recovery through REBH services and how they led her to become a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor. Read about part of Katie’s inspiring and personal journey to recovery:
“I am a person in long-term recovery, which led me to my career as a certified substance abuse counselor. I was combative and non-compliant during my first year seeking services at River Edge Behavioral Health. In time, I learned a lot about myself, my addiction, my mental health, and about mental illness. REBH helped me change my entire life. Since I have been at REBH, I earned my Associate of Science in Psychology at Georgia Military College. I graduated with my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Mercer University. I completed my Certified Addiction Counselor I Certification, and last Monday, I completed my Certified Addiction Counselor II Certification. I am passionate about working as a substance abuse counselor. I never imaged my life would be this great.” – Katie, Individual Served at River Edge Behavioral Health and River Edge Substance Abuse Counselor

In honor of Learning Disability Awareness Week, we want to highlight the amazing work of River Edge Behavioral Health team members who provide Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities services and supports with help from funds by the R.E.A.C.H. Campaign.
From a few hours to 24 hours per day, River Edge’s caring and well-trained team teaches, reinforces, and supports daily nutrition, hygiene, medication management, and social skills to help individuals live as independently and fully as possible.
